Well, it's been awhile since I've posted here. I have lost 15 pounds in the last 3 weeks, and I seem to be loosing more everyday. This new diabetic diet is great. I am loosing weight, and eating better then when I wasn't a diabetic.

All I can say is....eat right.

The first 35 or so were taken off slowly over the last 2 years. Eliminating regular pop, not pigging out late at night and trying to eat like a normal person should. Got to gym 3-4 times a week on average. Some weeks I'd go gonzo and really do well, other weeks I'd maybe hit the gym once and eat a whole pizza every night.

These last 30 happened in the last couple months. Basically still no pop but no sweets, snacks, and eat about ½ of what I used to. Also make healthier choices. I have one cheat day when I pig out and drink myself silly. Well, maybe a couple days of drinking. Workouts happen at least 5 days a week, sometimes 6. Worst week since the power-diet began was a 4 day workout week. I also stepped up the intensity of the workouts and the length. I've slowly tacked on more speed to the treadmill (still the best weight-loss excersise) and time. I jog for an hour now (or close to it depending on my day) each night.

I think I've hit my pace now and these last 20 or so should be easy and come off quick. I feel a TON better now.

It's amazing what proper diet and exercise will do for the human body. I cut sugar and lowered carbs out of my diet...LOWERED, not cut out of my diet. You need carbs in your diet. I eat tons of veggies (stir-fry ), and never eat fried foods. I am going to start my exercise routine soon. I have to wait for the doc to clear me. He found I have high liver emzymes, possible Cushing's Syndrome, and high cholesterol.

Man, I am fooked up, huh?

Hi all been a while since I have been on and congrats to all on there weight loss. I to have lost quite a bit of weight. Like most others on here, a diet change was the first thing that needed to happen. Secondly I went from a static job (sitting in office) to working as a eletrician again. I have lost approximatly 40lbs an my next step is to quite smoking. I wish everyone the best of luck it is definatly a great feeling to take a notch in on the belt than let one out.

268 This weekend. My current goal of 260 by Vegas is going to be a non-issue. I've also reset a new overall goal of 240-ish. Should tag that by summer no problem. This is easy!

I'm down to 275 on the dot. 10 lbs less than the last time I checked in @285. I've been contolling my eating habits and how much I eat. And I went out and bought a 30 lb. dumbell. That sumbich will make my arms throb! When winter is over with, look out! Hiking trails here I come.

I'm upping my routine to 3 miles every other day now. When I get down close to 200 lbs, I'm taking up body building again. Haven't done that since I was 18. I used to have huge double biceps. Now they're like blah!

I am up to 236. I think I am finding some of the lbs you guys are losing. At my age, it is hard to lose it once you gain it. Plus, everything I like to eat is a no-no.

I hear that. Do you drink soda's? I know it's hard, but try to go diet. You will eventually get used to the taste. That will help a ton. Next, if you eat like my dad, and fill your plate completely, dont do that either. Portion control is a biggie. Eat smaller portions, and stay away from buffets. Also, stay away from sweets as much as possible. It wont hurt to have a bowl of Blue Bell every once and awhile, but limit it. I have a bowl of ice cream every Sunday after dinner (doc says it's cool). I dont eat any sweets for the rest of the week. It gives me something to look forward to.

Everyone's body is different. What works for some may not work for others. You should be aware of how your body reacts to different foods.

I am eating a piece of Chocolate pie while reading this. Really! You just ruined my lunch. I know all you said is correct. My wife does not eat sweets and she is a vegatarian. But, dang, that is some boring food! She weighs 105, perfect blood pressure, cholesterol, perfect health. I just enjoy food too much, not much I can do about it.
