Well, Friday I go to the doctor to have an MRI and spinal tap to find out whats wrong....I know it's MS....my grandfather had it, his dad and his grandfather had it.

What I wanna know is what to expect with the spinal tap? I mean a shot or giving blood is one thing, but a needle in my spinal cord, that's kinda scary. Anyone ever have one?

I personally never had one...but I hear it is Out-patient stuff, so...it can't be that bad...Especially when compared to full blown MS...

I just wanted to let you all know I started my new way of life on Monday. Started walking/jogging/running a mile in the morning in addition to eating low fat/low cal/high protein.

It has only been 4 days and I already feel better.

I still need to get to the gym to do resistance training in addition to my cardio work though. I plan on starting that workout regimen next week.

I have a lot of weight to lose, I will keep you all posted!

I was at 181 this week. I actually weighed myself again last night & it fluctuated between 179-180. Even being in the low 180s I felt like I would never see 170s.

Since they cut non-work related surfing a while ago I have had zilch time to go online & calculate my actual caloric intake so I felt like I was only doing half the work. Never the less I have continued to keep a log of food & have been hatching what I eat. This week I decided that keeping track of food is useless without the second step of figureing out the calories. So my new plan is to just keep track mentally of what I am eating & focus on eating better still.

So now I am feeling better about everything (especially hitting the 170s).

Congratulations to all who have had luck in dropping their weight! I was a nice 220 lbs. Feb 04 when I had ACL surgery, and quit smoking. I also have 3 herniated disks in my low back, so I don't move too well anymore. I'm also gonna need a full knee replacement in a couple of years, but the surgeon says I just don't hurt bad enough to justify it...(thanks!) I've ballooned up to around 280 since then. I KNOW if I drop the weight, the knee and back will hurt less, but I just can't get enough exercise to make the pounds go away...HOPEFULLY, the insurance company will finally authorize the back surgery that they've drug their feet over for so long...Then, MAYBE I can get out and walk more than just to my mailbox & back...

The last 6 weeks have been a complete failure for me. My work slowed down and I intentionally didn't pursue more clients because of the heat and I had other stuff going on. So without working for 6 weeks I ballooned back up to my 'winter weight'.

November 2004- 185
Jan 2005- all time high of 190
June 2005- 175 (approaching my goal of 170)
August 2005- 184

I am now 6'5 1/4 and 291 pounds. I have increased my bench press to 340 from 310 over the summer so i'm happy. Once football started I only ate like once a day and the fat started coming off.

Here we go. Been fighting this all my life. I am 34 y/o and 6'3". In May '05 I weighed 365lbs. Never been that big in my life and really unhappy about it. Decided to do something about it. Seems my wife supports this attitude wholeheartedly. Today, Aug 20, '05 I'm down to 302lbs. My goal is to reach 220lbs by this time next year. Took me 34 yrs to put it on, I figure I can spare a year to take it off. My only worry is what to do once I am too thin to fit in my F150 SCREW
