Have any you guys ever had an ECHO exam on your heart? Some weird stuff. My doctor scheduled that and a stress test for me, I went yesterday. I have only had one physical in my life, guess he just wanted to see what was going on, I was not having any problems that I know of. Anyhow, that is some strange stuff to lie there and see your heart beating and to hear it doing it's thing. I mean, you know it is in there beating but to watch it on the monitor and listen to it is just strange. was to me anyhow. Then i had to get on a treadmill and run like crazy for a few minutes. I know I need to lose about 15 or 20 pounds, but, dang, everything I love to eat is the bad stuff.

Keep up the good work guys. D & Jamz keep at it.

182 now. I can see the 170s & they are getting closer every day. I did ride the exercise bike twice last week. Granted it was only for 2 minutes each time but it showed I burned about 25 cal;ories each time (rode right about 2 mile each time).

Weight loss

Started June 9, 2004 at 262 (6'3").
Dropped fast food to start out with. Was able to bicycle into work and re-started my running routine. (before I became blimpish, I ran half and full marathons). Calorie counted as much as possible. Never realized how much I ate until I did that.
When winter came and I couldn't bike outside, I got on the treadmill while I was watching the news or ESPN.
Got down as far as 220 but now am at 228.
Besides the extra weight being gone, the pluses are I am now off my hypertension medication and can fit back into my previous wardrobe.
Before, during and after pix are a big incentive as well.
My wife started the same time I did and lost nearly 70 pounds. (She was able to find a LEGITIMATE reason to buy new clothes!)
Best of luck to all those trying out there!

I know you guys are going to hate me, but Im the opposite of a lot of people in here. Im trying to gain weight. Last measured 'officaly' I was 6'1" and 171 lbs. Ive started eating more and drinking protien shakes. I work out M, W, F, but I also run everyday. Ive only been at it a few weeks and don't notice any change, but I'll be getting weighed 2 saturdays from now, so Ill see how that goes.

31C,

If you run everyday, that could be part of the reason your having trouble gaining. Dont get me wrong, running is awesome for you, but if your trying to put on a few pounds of muscle mass, you might want to run on your off days (Tuesday, Thursday, and maybe Saturday). With you running everyday, your metabolism is very high, and will be really hard to gain the weight. It will happen, just really, REALLY slowly.

Good Luck, and keep us informed.

Not me. I am around 200 right now. I lost some, but I think that is due to anxiety (SP?).

I think I might have MS (Multiple Sclerosis). I go to get a spinal tap and MRI next month to find out for sure. I have around 10 symptoms of it, and the Doc told me to lay off the lifting and to keep my heart rate down a bit till we find out for sure what it is. He doesn't want me to have a heart attack or something crazy like that.

Kinda scares the ***** out of me.
