Wittom- you don't have to be a fat bastard to offer support to fat bastards.

Well last night just for the fun of it (& to try & judge my progress) I decided to attempt to on my post-baby1 jeans that I haven't been able to fit in for quite a while. I was able to fit into both pairs of jeans (size 16) as well as 2 pairs of jean shorts (also size 16s). Previously I wasn't able to get them over my butt & hips & if I did I wasn't even close to zipping them.

Had to stay up to personally thank my trainer for his dedication. He insisted that I keep training in an effort to get me into my pre-baby1 jeans.

I think I have fallen back into my "old habits".

As I sit here on my lunch break, eating a 1/2 pound beef and potato burrito from Taco Bell, and missed the last 2 softball practices, I realize I need to get off my fat **** and get back into the swing of things.

Problem is......work. I could bring my lunch, but that would mean I'd have to go into the lounge to warm up my lunch, and I hate being around most of the people in this building.

On the flip side, spring is here. It's time for yard work, gardening, fishing, and DZervIt to take down his Christmas lights.

I am still hovering around 215 lbs, and hoping this Texas heat will help me shed those extra pounds. I just have to stay away from fast foods. I guess I'll watch Super-size me again tonight. That helped for about a month.

I'm signing up for a SCUBA class later this month. The thought of being shirtless in public is enough to scare me into starving between now and then. I'm not really that fat, but the man-***** are embarrassing.

at the suggestion of several on this thread, I just watched "Super Size Me" It was a pretty good documentary and was downright scary when it showed the dangers of fast food on your liver and cholesterol. It will definately help keep me away from fast food for a while.

I thought it was pretty scary how fast the food caused ill effects. I can't imagine that may people eat fast food every day, three meals a day. I know that there are a lot of people that eat fast food on a regular basis. Some people five or more days a week.

I generally don't eat fast food, mostly because I do service work in several different fast food resturaunts. If people could see how unsanitary most of these places are, there would be a lot fewer people eating at these places. The standards set by the Board of Health and very low. I did end up eating fast food one day in Jan. when work was really busy because of the extreme cold. I was starving and had very little time. I got a couple burgers and fries. Man, they tasted toxic!

I don't eat that much better than anyone else. My girl is always telling me of the foods that are better than the ones I usually eat. She's convinced me to eat whole wheat, or wheat bread instead of white bread which has very little nutritional value. I try to eat whole grains when ever possible. I also try to balance my diet. I've heard a lot about this Atkins craze, no carbs. My girl's research has found that you can actually cause health problems by not eating carbs. She tells me it's important to eat good carbs.

My girl put on a bunch of weight in less than a year. It was tough seeing her put thoes pounds on. She didn't feel good about herself. I felt hopeless because though I tried, it didn't seem that I could help. It's taken her years to lose weight. That has been great to watch. It's taking a long time but she is trying to do more than lose weight. She's trying to change her lifestyle. I'm so proud of her. It's so much better to be with someone who feels good about them selves, and has confidence.

I commend Habibi on his accomplishments. Not everyone will be able to stick to such a strict regiment though. It can be done at your own pace. So what if it takes a long time. If your working at it, that's better than doing nothing, right? I need to follow Habibi's example too. I need to quit smoking. I haven't found the strength to do it yet. I also need to watch the beer consumption. I'm not as young as I used to be, the metabolism is slowing slightly and the beer is just starting to show.

Again, sorry for taking up so much space in this thread. It's just my girl talks to me all the time about the struggles she's had, and has. I need to make some changes myself, so I know it's not easy. My girl has shown me what can be done, by setting her mind to it and sticking with it. It can be done!

Your girl is right. Thats the way we eat at home as well.

I tried the Atkins diet last year. I lost weight, and I lost it fast. I felt better, but at the same time, I was more tired at bed time. I figured that something wasnt right. I didnt gain the weight back fast either. Once I was at my "ideal weight", I contimued to eat right at home. BUT, eating fast food from time to time at work, has caused this fat ring around my waste, and I dont like it.

Your about 315ish now, right? I believe with some work in the gym and the right diet, you can crack that 15 lbs off in about 4-5 weeks.

10 weeks in & I am down to 195. Other than my workouts with my presonal trainer I haven't been exercising (& you said it wouldn't work D). My XL scrub pants are hanging on me now (I asked them to get me large but they insisted on XL's, they didn't take into account that I was prego at the time they ordered them). I can't wait for them to start complaining about them being too baggy.. Guess what, you ordered them against my advice so you can just live with them or buy me new ones in a smaller size. I can definitely notice my stomach is smaller. I still have a ways to go but am enjoyig the changing process.

Rock on to all my fat bastards who are becoming not so fat bastards.
