I don't have to count calories (I know that in the time I haven't I've only fluctuated between 172 & 179), but with counting calories I am holding myself PERSONALLY responsible and become more aware of everything I eat. For me its all aout getting it through my head.

ok, ill fess up! i could stand to drop about 20 lbs. my biggest problem is , i drink DIET beer, but i now drink twice the amount! go figure! im single no kids, so i dont eat the greatest, but i dont eat alot either! i need to just get off my lazzy a.. and start walking at night. i know a few people who walk every night ( or atleast most nights) for about 30 min. and they all have lost weight, some more than others. i know alot has to do with your genreal body "make up"! some people can gain and lose weight like nothing (used to be me) and others (now me) struggle!

my progress is improving....ive put on about 10 pounds of muscle since beginning of February and bench/squat numbers are up pretty good. Starting doing more dumbbell workouts to work the stabilizer muscles and got the abs formed up pretty good, almost 6 pack.
Right now 5'8 157 (+/- 2 lbs)...wouldn't mind another 15 lbs of solid muscle before summer

Wow, this is an incredibly and incredibly long thread. Great though and encouraging...

I am big framed 6' 3" and weigh in at 270.

Honestly, I have hovered near that mark since I went off to University when I was 20. Transferred to a small school and played a year of college ball and got back down to 225-230 and played small forward, 5:30 am sprints are pretty effective weight loss, haha. Couldn't afford to keep playing, studying and working, so basketball lost because the NBA hadn't noticed me yet, lol. Got married a year later and moved to Canada and packed the weight back on to 270 pretty quick and have been 260-270 pretty consistent for five years.

I work two jobs (tech support and assistant pastor) so i don't have a lot of time to fit a workout in. The evening is bad for me because I just won't do it, so I bit the bullitt and started going to the gym and cutting out the junk food and pop. Just started today with a will to keep going. I got back on the weights lightly this morning and did a half hour of bike and treadmill, so here we go.

I need to get down to 215 and my goal (playing weight in high school) is to be there in 51 weeks, before our annual conference at church next year. I think I can pull it off, only problem is Im going to have to walk and ride my bike places, hard with a sweet 2004 F150 sittin in the drive way.

What ever happened to Habibibib the guy who started the thread here? DId he ever lose the weight?

Good job everybody... quick update for me. At 260 right now. A few weeks of missed workouts (sick, unmotivated). Total of 80lbs gone. I think about 20 more to go. Who knows.

Real nice, I hope you were kidding. Even so, this thread is for support & sharing stuff that has worked for us. We each have our personal goals & some of us are closer to reaching them than others. I personally have lost 30 pounds with another 10-15 to go.

To everyone, keep up the good work. Swimsuit season is fast approaching (& my personal goal date) so here's to us all being happy wiht how we are once we get where we want to be.

Don't worry about the newb RDY! This from the same clown that posted in the man's "clean up the forum" thread about how some people shouldn't be on...

Back on topic - my weight is basically the same... a few more pounds over last month, mainly due to my 8-week travel marathon, partying like a rock star and gourging on good eats during my travels. But alas the weather is warm and I've been running outdoors for a week now, so things are looking good! Speedo weather is right around the corner...

Thanks man... its crunch time now. The point were I just want to rid the last pounds but it feels like I have another 80 to go. Some weeks of eating and drinking good while relaxing and enjoying some travel can really throw you off course! Gotta lift up my skirt, find my ***** and get this done.

I have been eating right since Jan. 17th and have been exercising daily for the past month. To date I have dropped 51.5 pounds. I feel much better. I have 25 pounds to go to reach my original goal, but I may go for another 5 or 10 after that.

Good work lew b! I've lost 23 lbs in the last 4 or 5 months. Down to 265 lbs from 288. I'm still trying to loose more weight, but the fact that I'm almost all muscle makes that hard to do. I must be part samoan or something.
