So I was getting quotes today. 1k plus providing my own stuff. Ridiculous. I'm passing on mandrel bends, going for smooth like before. Around here there are maybe 3-4 across the state so they charge up the ying Yang. I just can't afford that but gonna go 409. The Guy I wanted to do it would need it for 2-3 days. I still can't believe how twinscrewed got his done for cheap. Unreal.

Ok so funny update

After thinking this over... just going to go to the shop I wanted to in the first place. He's saying around 1k and that's a lot, but the more I thought about it and my family pointing out it's only a bit more than the other quotes - it makes sense in the long run. I called him this morning and we are going to tackle it in the next few weeks. He'll need the truck for a few days, but his work is worth it. Oh and I bought new tips. I wanted to make it as easy as possible so I found that many dodge guys use MBRP 5" x 12" tips on their 1500's with the bumper cut out. They used the same RBP tip adapters that I have so I figured they would bolt up. Sure enough, they do. Here are some generic pics of them. 54 or so a piece off amazon and beautiful construction. Way better quality than the ones I originally bought. I wanted them to bolt on/off since I love polishing them.

So a few weeks back I was driving and I heard a tapping sound. I thought "This sounds like a manifold." Well pretty sure I have my passenger side manifold leaking. I was talking to Darren last week and was thinking about doing JBA shorty's after I get a DD. But then I'm thinking yesterday. I really don't feel like dumping 1k into my exhaust and then dump that again into manifolds. It's makes no sense. This is aggravating but I think it's the move that makes the most sense. I'm going to try to get the Gotts O2 mod done next week. Hopefully that will kill the CEL. If that does I'm gonna forget about the doing the exhaust for a while. If I have to tackle the manifold, you might as well just get Long tubes. I wanted them in the first place and this is the best time to do it. 1400 or so gets me 304 SS with everything. There are places around that install them so then all I would need is my cat back made. It wouldn't be until next spring, but I don't want to keep tearing into the same exhaust for stupid things. I really just want to get into a DD by fall so I don't have to keep dealing with nickle and diming. Plus with a daily, i can let a shop have the truck. Right now, I can't really do that. I hate how this has played out, but I think it's gonna be worth it.

Sure does! I'd probably change the muffler though to what GraydonMotorsports has

I think the S-type will be too loud

Yeah same here, but it only makes sense. I'd rather get lt's if a manifold has to be replaced. Studs could break either way so I might as well get a quality system like dynatechs. Also with the system being complete, I could hook the roush up until I saved for the new custom part. As long as the gotts mod works.

I want to support an American company. I want to know I'm getting a top notch product.

Yeah, I've said for years on here that I'd go Dynatech or SW if I do. Dynatech will be my choice.

And so my million year long exhaust tale continues. I want to get into making high end exhausts and general fabrication as my own business in the future... pretty much have the understanding of materials and what not and I see the differences in quality. I thought a few months back since I want to get into this why not focus on getting the training and I'll do my truck exactly 100% how I want. Mandrel bent 304 or 321 SS.

Registered tonight for intro to welding/Oxyacetylene (been checking and calling the local Vo-tech high school for months). Finally making this a reality. The class starts mid september and is 5 weeks. After that I'll look into getting a very nice welder that I can grow with and take part 2 that covers more Mig and Tig in the spring. I think this is going to get good
