Losing the whole system for something different or changing the exit and tip?

Contemplating changes to the exhaust. Tips will have to go, may add or change the muffler.

Maybe this weekend on the vids, if my muffler comes in by Friday...

Been doing some debating with myself on my exhaust. I picked up a Borla pro xs 40364 muffler to experiment with, clamping it up before my ROR muffler. So, I was thinking of possibly doing a true dual setup now. If my experiment works maybe going with some maggie high flow 94106 cats and a maggie x pipe, another pro xs muffler, and rear exit dump, all 2.5".

Upon thinking if I want to get my truck up to emission standards since I have LT's I may have to go with a larger cat, like a 93506 which is 12" body versus the 94106's 9" body. This will quiet it down just a bit too. I think it'll sound good, eventually. I'll be buying the parts over time, like everything else. :o

I could then sell my ROR system. Never wanted to butcher it up. Too nice a system.

The reason I may go with the larger cat is I have read that some throw a cel with the 94106's with just stock manifolds, and if I want to get back to snuff with my emissions (the obx cats are way tiny) my thinking is the larger cat will keep that cel from happening.

Oh and got the muffler, I'll post pics of it in a bit.

I had the larger Magnaflow 12" cats with e-manifolds, and now modified the OBX y-pipe with the 94136 cats (has 1 o2 sensor bung for the downstreams in the body) that are also 9" bodies. They're rated for 6.1L engines ea., so I'm hoping they'll cut it.

I do know longer mufflers will have to replace my 12" bodied Magnaflows, but I was going to add the OBX resonators before the mufflers as a quick/temp fix if it's crazy loud/raspy.

I'm hoping for no rasp, just deep tone.

What magical sequence would this happen to be, or do you remember?? I was planning on pulling all the studs if I had to, but if there is an easier way..... please share!

Well my installer Patman03sprcrw has some specialty ratcheting wrenches and they really helped out a lot. We used the OBX supplied gaskets. We started opposite bolts that held the gasket and they then held up the header by gravity. I will say the passenger side is definitely a PITA to do, just take your time, it's going to take a while either way. Driver's side, piece of cake.

Dynatech install guide, very helpful: http://www.dynatechheaders.com/instr...o08_2WD4WD.pdf
