Gutted cats is going to kill your low end energy due to the velocity change from the open cat, flowing back down to normal pipe size. Not healthy, or good sounding, and you will definitely get an engine light. Hi-flow cats you wont as long as the sensors get mounted right after them.

DAMN.......... THAT sounds like a 2 cycle SAAB.... (You'll remember that ONLY if you're an old fart like myself!)
I would immediately go straight to a muffler shop...........DO NOT PASS GO!

I heard a 06-08 ram 15-00 the other day while i was detailing my truck. OMG one of the best sounding exhuasts I've heard in a while. I think it was a maggie... guessing a 14" si/do based on how loud it was.

Ok here's a question.. I am about ready to put a new muffler on my truck. I know for sure I want the bullet- but am not sure to go with the 12 or 18 inch... My truck is an 01 supercharged 5.4 with high flow cats and long tube headers. dual cats into 1 3 inch pipe..what's the difference in sound? I am going to run it out the side in front of the rear right tire..

the drone in the cab will be unbearable if you put it out the side. i would personally put it out the back, and stick to the 12". what LTS do u have?

ha. dont do 3" piping on true duals. 2.5" is the biggest you should go. run an H pipe crossover to balance it out as well. otherwise, thats a good set up.

you could go 4" if you want, but no point. 3" is the way to go on a Single pipe exhaust
