What size are your pipes?
2 bullets with an X pipe will sound very good. need 2.25" or 2.5" piping

OK, true dual... Sounds good, how much is that gonna cost? what brand should I go with? Is this a hard install to do yourself? I have almost no mechanics experience. How much would it cost to have it done?

2 dynomax bullets will be about 80 bucks from summit racing
magnaflow X pipe will be about 70
have a shop weld everything together. pipes and installation depending on where you live could be anywhere from 100-150.

right now your basically looking at a perfect set up. Longtube headers will be the only way to go. they will increase your volume, rasp it up a bit, and youll gain about 25 HP. Average headers are about $500, decent quality. or you could pay $800 and get Dynatech or Doug Thorley which are the best. Most LTs come with 2 High flow cats as well. So your looking at
Longtube headers (500-800)
2 high flow cats (chop off all your cats and replace with the 2 high flows) (if the headers come with them) (if not they are about 150 for 2)
X pipe (70)
2 dynomax bullets (80)
tips (100-150)
You could install the LTs yourself and save about 300 bucks, but they are a PITA. shop labor and piping if you need any, will be about 100-200 bucks. thats really a perfect setup, and as good as it gets.

Do I need to do the headers right now or can I save that for a time when my wallet is a little bit heavier?

Headers can be done anytime you want, you may just like the sound with what you plan on running now and put your money towards something else.

Alright fellas after reading this entire thread cover to cover i come to you experts for some profesional advice. I have an 02 ext cab short bed with the 2v 5.4. What i am looking for is a setup that sounds a lil better than stock but has the v8 growl and low rumble. I dont want it real loud and raspy. i live in the city so i need all of the emissions junk. I also do alot of highway driving between 65-75 mph so cab drone is of major importance. I do not like it! lol Anyway I do know id like a si/do rear split 45'd. So suggestions guys?

I would suggest the 18" si/do maggie or the 14" si/do maggie. The 18" is a bit louder than stock and the 14" is fairly loud. Neithr are obnoxious by any means.

i had a si/so 14" maggie on my 02 supercab shortbed, and it sounds exactly like what you want, not sure about the dual out part if it makes it louder or what, but id go with a 14" with stock 4 cats and all that stuff. no drone at all, even doin 75-80 with a 14 foot enclosed trailer behind me.
