It is usually a bit louder and deeper... there is better sound projection

Correct, it gives a slight more metallic/hollow sound, and it helps throw it a bit more.

As long as it fits your pipe size... I would be sure to get SS

well, i've searched around and asked you guys alot of questions but i think i have just a few more. i've decided to go with magnaflow. (can't ignore the high quality and life of the muffler) just can't decide if i want to go with the 14" or 18" oval body

i have a 2006 super crew king ranch edition with the 5.4

i am going to run si/do, which leads to another question

which is better 3" in/2.5" out or 2.5" in/out

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks again

Depends how much you want to hear it inside, the 14" body is not bad at all though, with a bit extra sound.

You will want a 3" inlet and change your intermediate pipe to 3" if available to for the best sound gain, with 2.5 tails.

It would be ok, but the best sounding exhaust on a v6 for most people is a chambered muffler like a flowmaster or cherry bomb extreme. They hold a deep idle and sound more aggressive at lower rpms than a straight thru like a magnaflow or borla... personal preference tho

Quite ricey, but I would take it for the stainless pipes and put a glasspack inplace of the muffler.

flowmaster 44 dumped OVER the axle, or side exit
