Boo Troyer Performance
I second this comment. Most of you people have no idea what it takes to make a tune from scratch. The price is what the price is. If you want the tune buy it if you can't afford it bash it!!!! I call this champaign taste on a beer budget!!!
Hopefully she will change her mind and give me the tune considering that I purchased two tuners from them and an AF1.
I mean I not like all these freaks that have used my thread to bash TP and each other and me. I am just a guy that bought some products from some people and am posting what I think is unfair treatment by TP. There isn't another axe to grind except this one.

it's this thing called business, you pay for the product you recieve.
now stop being a cheap a-s and get clarification on the price for ONE tune and then pay for the ONE tune you want to recieve and quit whining before someone sends some cheese and crackers your way
Mike and Chrystal both have user names on this site and I bet most people will love what they say on this thread (if it's even worth their time)
so the purpose of this thread is because you are angry that Troyer will not give you a tune for free?

For the poster above quoted $125 for the additional AF1 tube and three tunes, I guess you rate A+ with Troyer. I thought I was on their "good list" and I think was quoted substantially more than that... even if I had the three additional tunes written at the time I had my original 3" AF1 tunes written. I'll check the price tomorrow, but I could swear that the extra AF1 tube alone was $125.

The first time I called to do business with Troyer they quoted extra tunes at $75 each if you bought a complete set of tunes. After several tunes, dyno time and other stuff with them I still pay $75 for a single tune. I do not believe they will write a single tune for $75 unless you already did a complete set with them or something like that. From the first time to now Troyer has been $75 a tune for me. Must have been my mad phone skills right from the get. I apologize if discussing actual prices on here if it is in poor taste but considering the nature of the thread it's pretty much required.
For the OP I only can suggest calling and getting clarification on the price quote. I do not speak for TP in any way as I am just another customer and have several tunes from several tuners on this forum to share my experience with.
But the price of gas has crept up to $5 for 91 octane fuel around here. As much as I love my truck with Troyer's 91 performance tune, I am now shopping for a sub-compact as a daily driver. If I get a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris; I'm throwing a cold air intake under the hood, welding on a glass pack muffler, and putting on my Troyer Performance stickers in protest. You think the other import tuners will be impressed or scared by my Troyer Performance stickers when they have Mugen & GReddy?
Sorry, but I know exactly what it takes to write a tune from scratch and it's not that much work for guys like TP, Justin, Doug, etc.
I'm not sure so I would just put a bunch of the stickers on it. I think if you put a lot of them it makes up for the quality. I think anyways ...

If it's so easy why aren't there hundreds of people out there tuning trucks, everyone has a computer the software is readily available through SCT, there should be hundreds of tuners on this site gobeling up the potential money!!! I see that there is a new tuner that is shutting down for a couple weeks to get caught up, if they are that easy to do he should never have gotten behind!!!!

It's called Liability, and the fact that people will try and get over on you, threating that your tune messed up the truck, that hadnt had an oil change in 6months
Tunes them self are not that hard to write, you have the software, and making a tune isnt that difficult. What yall fail to realize is that these tuners are NOT JUST writing tunes for you guys on the site. They have other customers as well, local, other sites, this site, ect..ect... Look how busy we keep them just on this site. I can understand them getting behind, esp. when they have a shop located somewhere and have people coming in for dyno tunes ect..ect.. Takes a little time when you have someone come in, setting up the dyno, pulling the o2 sensor out to measure the A/F ect..ect.. Making the pulls on the dyno, cool down between runs, adjusting the setting between runs. Yea there's a lot to it, not to mention when I would call to check the status of my custom tune, I didnt want to speak to anyone other than the guy writing the tune (Justin) So when you add up all the phone call's, all the information that is taken into consideration for each customer, there's a lot of time invested. I have read several post where guys were talking about how Mike with TP was on the phone with them for 30min-1hr discussing things about there trucks, that's great! But if he has 1-2 calls like that in an 8hr day, he's down to 6hrs in the business day, not to mention the other stuff that comes up.
In all fairness, I think every tuner on here is pretty even when it comes to the performance of these machines. Some just have different methods to get it where it needs to be, and each tuner has his own "idea" , but when it's all said and done they work with the customer till he/she is happy! My hats off to the tuners, I do not have the patience to deal with some of the crap that comes along on this forum, even the crap I stir up!
Ohhh, and I have seen first hand the work that goes into custom tunes, I had my mustang dyno-tuned with the Xcal2, and the tuner here was more than happy to pull up a chair for me, and go through what he was doing and looking at as he data logged the info, and made .01's adjustments to get the fuel curve exact, ect..ect.
But this thread has gotten way to personal, and off beat, the main reason this was started was because the OP was upset that he was going to get charged an Arm/Leg for a single tune! When other's are writing them for half that, I'd be a little pissed if I was a repeat customer.
If your TP Tuned, and like them.... Great!
If your VMP Tuned and like them....Great!
If your Grypone Tuned and like them..... Great!
If your Edge Tuned or Other can tuned.... give it time, you'll switch! lol
i have not tried to tune the fords yet. i have used hp tuners when i had a gm truck. tuned it myself with alittle help at first. after that i was writing my own tunes. i will get to the fords soon. as of right now there is to much other stuff going on. i do use it on weekends to throw a few things in the gm trucks and cars when i do cam or heads and cam swaps on them. also i lost my laptop along with other things. to do a tune from scratch depends on the truck-mods-area-use-customer wants. it can be a simple tune to a very demanding tune. i have seen tunes take from 30 minutes to three hours. and it is usually one person doing all the tuning not a bunch of them in a room pushing them out. that is why it takes longer. it also depends on the tuner as well. all tunersdo things in a different manner even though they may all change the same tables. prices may vary upon there discretion. if you dont like there price there are others to go to. did you buy the very tuner you are asking for an update on from them or is it from someone else. and was it all metioned in the phone call.
Jpdadeo have you ever seen someone tune a vehicle? I'm guessing not since you've got mail order tunes, right?
No offense taken. I don't tune vehicles for a living, otherwise I wouldn't be preaching VMP's name, but I've been around a lot of them being tuned. Anyone that has been to a tuner's shop can vouch for how long it really takes to tune a vehicle.

I don’t agree, those 30 min tunes are not CAN in depth tunes
The shops with less experience don’t go as in depth as some tuners and it doesn’t take as long; it’s no big deal thumpe, let it go
