As I stated in my original post, had the key on and then plugged in the cable, just like the manual says to do. Key is still on and I have not turned it off because the display still says please wait.

Have what appears to be a problem. I am on step 4, page 11 of the supplied manual. Followed the instructions precisely. Had the key on, and then plugged the cable into the OBDII connector. Have been waiting about 30 minutes and the display has said this the whole 30 minutes: "Make sure key is turned on. Do not start. Please wait while Evolution initializes." I do not have the screen shown in step 4 where the truck's hex code should be shown.

What do you suggest I do now. I do not want to lose the stock program, and definitely do not want to disable the truck.

Thanks,
Randy
That is what mine did. Actually, mine did that when I tried to load a tune. Turn your key off and unplug it. Then turn your key ON (not to accessory, but actually ON) and plug it back in.

Just out of curiousity, where did you all put the velcro for mounting the pod? I put a piece along the side against the door, and one at the very back on top of the dash. Keeps it tight for a few days, but then loosens a bit.

Still got the same thing after turned key off, unplugged cable, turned key back on (to on, not acc), and plugged cable back in. Stuck on please wait while Evolution initializes screen, and never get the hex code screen. Let me know what would be the next thing to try.

I used one full piece of the suplied velcro at the very back (front of truck) edge on top of the dash, one half piece of supplied velcro at the very back (front of truck) end by door, and one half piece of supplied velcro at the end of the curved piece by the speedometer. Used two additional pieces that I had in the garage about the same size but perhaps a little thicker and tighter hold. Put one of these on the edge by the door at the very end closest to the driver (had to trim to fit curve), and put the other piece on the very back (front of the truck) at the top of the dash. Now have continuous velcro across this end. The piece by the door closest to the driver seemed to do the most good for allowing button pushing without causing the unit to flex.

Seems to hold well initially, but remember I have just now put mine in and have not driven the truck or pushed many buttons. Did you remember to clean the plastic before you applied the velcro?

I think you are just going to have to wait for Rob. He did have me open my unit and make sure one of the boards did not come loose - I'm not recommending that you do that without talking to Rob first...(and make sure you follow proper grounding procedures for handling electronics - they don't like static electricity). The only other thing I can think of is to make sure the cable is plugged into the unit fully - mine is a little tight, and I had to push kinda hard to get it to click into place.

Thanks for the help, that is what I was thinking I would need to do. I did notice that all 4 of the buttons seem to wiggle around in unison whenever I push the enter button to acknowledge the disclaimer. This looks like a loose board inside the unit. 32 years of experience making a living working with electronics, communications equipment, and computer networking equipment tells me my unit has either a software or hardware problem. Not complaining---we are beta testers.

Hopefully the truck will still start. I will let you know.

Turned off key, unplugged cable. Truck still starts and seems to be totally stock. Will leave disconnected until get email or phone response from Rob, unless somebody else has some other suggestions.

Nope, I haven't had any trouble with the tunes at all. My buttons wiggle too.

There's obviously problems with the software. For those of you that are having trouble with the unit initializing, you might want to just hold off until Rob pins these problems down. Otherwise, you might be without a truck.

Considering you tow 6x's what I pull, I'm guessing I'll be all right. Let's see...16' speed boat for 25 mins, or a train of peanut carts all damn day. I think I'll be safe.
