Usually in any software or product development cycle you progress from idea to prototype and then to 'Alpha' testing when the development group feels the product needs more input to work out problems that can be both functional and/or usablity type issues and when it looks like it ready for prime time you 'beta' test as a last step before going into production.

I expect that you would get lots of hand holding with 'alpha' test and with beta group you will be more or less trying to break it or give end user usability opinions.. You will have the most input to the development cycle in the Alpha group and roll into the beta test group by default. I would assume that the 'alpha' group will probably the most interesting. I have done a beta test for a motorcyle product and found that it was interesting.. In my case I believe that some of my comments actually caused a redesign because final production was delayed about 6 months (missing a season) and the new design incorporated a lot of my suggestions.

Jack..

Like Jack said, the Alpha program will be an initial public release. We try to keep as many Alpha testers local as we can. That way if a problem does occur we can see the problem on the truck in which it occurred.

I've replied to all of the emails that i've recieved, if you have sent one in and haven't recieved a response, please resend the info.
thanks guys,
Rob

FordZilla, did he give you a 100% answer that you were selected? All he sent me was just the basic information about what the testing will involve. Does this mean I was selected as well? I sure hope I get to do this. I have been wanting to tune my truck for a while, but this is the first time I have been able to afford it.

This is what he sent me so I assume I'm on the list once everything is ready.

Thanks for your interest! We are offering the Evolutions at a
discounted price of $$$ (Retail will be $$$$) with a $$$ rebate once we
receive feedback on how the product is working. We are still early in
development, and we will be looking for a group of Alpha Testers for the
first run, followed by a group of Beta testers. Beta testing would
involve running the product, and describing your likes, dislikes,
suggested improvements, and reporting anything unusual that may occur
while running the unit on your vehicle. If this is something that
interests you, let me know, and I will put you on the list and contact
you when we are ready to send the units out.
Thanks,
Rob
