You always get the P1000 code ... more drive cycles required .... and it will clear it self .... you will aways get this when you first change the PCM ... even if removing the battery cable to reset the PCM

I have driven over 200 miles. I'm not too worried about it! But thanks!

Fortunatly it has not locked up so I will quit messing with the bright/dim. I plan to program to the other levels to see if everything works from that standpoint. I have not tried any software downloading/connecting to a computer yet either. So far I love it- although I would really like to have trans temp, oil temp, and oil pressure. I haven't tried the 0-60 or 1/4 mile timers yet, any one else? Sounds like there are some initial issues to work out but that's why we're beta testers.
Also we probably can't say it enough-Don't disconnect the unit without returning to stock. . . .
itsnotacar,

Tried 0-60 and 1/4 mile performance tests yesterday and they worked fine. Not able to really get on it, just tested the operation.

Did anybody get the call from Rob yet?? I might call him soon, I need to see if it's ok to tow a small boat (16') on the 91 Performance setting. I imagine I'd be ok...

I know I have read MT make the statment that you should not ... only tow on the tow tunes on the ExCal and the Superchips ... so I would say no ... the exhuast gases are too hot

Guys,
We found one other bug we are working through. I will update you as soon as we know we've got it nipped.

As for towing on the 91 octane setting, it is not recomended. I however can't tell you not to do it, nor do I think it would cause any problems if you drove the truck easily, and the load was extremely light. That being said, IT IS NOT RECOMENDED!!

From Rob's post a few days ago, they will ship when they get these current problems worked out. Doesn't make sense to ship units that they know have a problem.

I'm just hoping they get this worked out in enough time for me to get mine updated for this weekend.

Ok, looks like I won't be towing until Sunday at the latest...damn rain. Rob will we be getting an update before then? I am 1000000% sure that I will be towing on Tuesday the 4th, but once again, a short trip (20 mins one way), and all flat country farm roads. I make like 6 turns the entire trip.

Talking Level 3

Wow, I've made a few trips on level 3 and it wakes the truck up! Normal driving isn't much different, just a lot more throttle responsive, but WOT that 5.4L screams. It seems like it wants to be driven hard with the level 3 tune, or maybe that's just me. I've been driving the truck pretty hard the past few days and averaging the same MPG I did before any tunes and with easy driving. If I could stop flooring, I bet my MPG would go up pretty good.

So far no problems for me, but I've only hooked up the tuner and did a level 2 tune till I filled up with 93 and then switched to level 3. I'm afraid to play with it too much till they get firmware bugs fixed.

I am hoping one of you guys can help me out. Installing my beta Evolution today. Been doing big project at work and did not have time to install before now.

Have what appears to be a problem. I am on step 4, page 11 of the supplied manual. Followed the instructions precisely. Had the key on, and then plugged the cable into the OBDII connector. Have been waiting about 30 minutes and the display has said this the whole 30 minutes: "Make sure key is turned on. Do not start. Please wait while Evolution initializes." I do not have the screen shown in step 4 where the truck's hex code should be shown.

What do you suggest I do now. I do not want to lose the stock program, and definitely do not want to disable the truck.

Thanks,
Randy
