I didn't see any 3-button ones. Am I missing some?

Ok, so my remote for my '06 F150 has FCC ID: CWTWB1U331.

Is the Fusion remote/key that has FCC ID: OUCD6000022 going to work?

I've read through this post twice and am confused.

Thanks

It didn't work I followed the instructions to program the remote and it did nothing. The other two remotes work fine, but this one did not. $30 pissed away.

1. have you cut the key

2. have you programmed that remote all by itself?

I know guys are running that key combo with the 2009+ trucks. So it makes me think 2 things...user error, or bad key.

if you ahven't cut it yet, I know people will buy it off you

When you programmed the new remote on the key, did you also program the existing remotes ?

The reason I ask, is if you only did the new one, you were not in programming mode, entering programming mode erases all previous RKE fobs.

If you did all 3 remotes, when you entered programming mode, and pressed the buttons on the key, what happened ?
- If nothing happened, is the battery in the new remote good ? ( does it have a plastic coating on the battery, or is the battery dead from being shipped with a key pressed ).

I always have a problem with it taking me 2 or 3 times to get into RKE programming mode for some reason. I just added the eBay flip key to my truck, and it happened again. ( My 2 existing RKE fobs are on the Ford Silver Remote start, so they program differently in the RMST/RKE unit, not the VSM ).

I have not yet programmed the key, just the remote. I tried it by itself and tried it with the other remotes. Both times it did nothing when I pressed a button. I have emailed the seller but have yet to hear back. Supposedly the remotes are tested before being sent out so the battery should not be in plastic. The buttons are flush so i don't know how a button could have really been pressed while it was shipped as it was also shipped in a padded envelope.

After re-confirming that others with 09+ are indeed using this exact key, I went out and tried it again. I did the same thing as last time except that this time I did the new remote first (which shouldn't matter) and it worked! Frustrating, but at least it is now working. Now I'm off to ACE Hardware to see about cutting the key and trying to program it.

On a side note, is it possible to program the trunk release button for a garage opener?

@5111...glad to hear man. weird, but at least it worked. as for a garage opener..no. Look up "Homelink".

@ Expy4x4...yes. the trunk unlock should pop your rear hatch glass as also (trunk function). if it doesn't work for you, I'll buy it off you. I wouldn't mind having another one for my Mustang anyways

reguardless, if you have only 1 key, I highly suggest you spend the $5-10 and get a regular/plain key like comes from the factory. have the dealership program that key, then take the expensive Fusion style key to a locksmith. alot of Dealerships/Lowes/Home Depot refuse to cut the Fusion keys.

Fusion Key - Locksmith is how I did it. Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot all refused to cut the key. The have a little electronic tester thingy and if it detects a PATS RFID chip, they refuse to do it. I googled Locksmith and went to the first guy who answered his phone. $1.50 later I was driving with the key

Getting 2nd key - I took my eBay key to the Dealership with my 1 operating key. Told them to program the eBay key to my Mustang. They charged me 30 minutes of labor for it...$40 was my charge.

Then I bought several extra keys off eBay and programmed them all myself.

to make sure there is no question. the Fusion combo key will work on ALL 2004-2010 F-150s. It also works on many other Fords, but I know 100% it works on the F-150.

For you truck guys, there are 3 variations of the Fusion Key. 3 button, 4 button, 5 button. any and all of them will work on your trucks. I suggest you only get a 3 button though so you won't have any extra useless buttons.

If my friend doesn't have keyless entry, he doesn't have the PATS system?
