has anyone found out that they lost some light on the road (brightness) since they painted the reflective part directly to the side of the light. I know from the first pic BlueScrew painted his signal light one black but left his headlight side one chrome/reflective..

looks great! Dont mean to high jack the thread or anything but i didnt see the point in starting up another thread. So sorry for that... but I was wondering what poeple think of painting the head lights black, with a maroon truck? I have been contemplating it for a while but am afraid that it might not look right....

BTW, I have a quick question. Which spray paint are your guys using? Because I've noticed that the three types I've used (Krylon Fusion Satin Black, Krylon High Temp Black, and Color Place Rust Control) are all different colored black when they dry. The high temp one seems to be the "flattest" of all three, while the Rust Control one is more of a shine to it. Just wondering.

Painted them same as the headlights (2 coats). I was looking for a more blacked out look than factory HD lights.

I put down on a couple coats of Rust-oleum automobile primer, then sprayed them with krylon rust tough enamel semi-flat black. Just used what I had laying around in the storage shed.

No problem as long as you use plenty of sealant. I used one tube on each headlight. Rvt black silicoln windshield and gasket maker (I think type 270) is what I used. It has only been a week, but we have had a lot of rain the past two days and I have had no problem. Also I can't notice any difference in visibility. The fx2 sport has the same effect therefore I can't see Ford putting them on if it did make an impact on vision.

last minute color selection?
All right guys i was going to do my head lights black, but now i am possibly thinking of doing them in arizona beige to match my 2 tone paint of maroon, and arizona beige, i have the lariat package and the honey comb grill and lower portion of my front bumber is arizona beige. What color to go with black, arizona beige, or maroon to matcht the truck? Thanks for the input.
