Ten minutes @250 degrees. The sealant really doesn't get goey like VW heads, just softer. Try prying up just one corner and pull like hell once it starts separating.

I recall reading that it's easiest to go for the most rounded section of the light first, makes it easier to separate.

Truck has clearcoat to make it shiny. Some clearcoat on the lights would probably make it match.

Tried using clearcoat over Fusion before but didn't work so well. Found this out painting my Suzuki Burgman, makes it look orange peally. Actually, the semi-matte finish inside the light is growing on me.

I used a screwdriver and dug into a corner. Once I got that one corner up, pulled really hard with oven mitts on and it came right off. Try not to overheat these lights as the plastic tabs tend to get really soft and deform.

I've had to put mine in quite a few times. The prying apart is not easy. Those "3 hours" guys are either full of it or have tough hands. It takes time, lots of time, tough hands, and most of all patience!

You have nearly half an inch to dig in with the screwdriver before you can pry on it. Start on the corner, work your way around the top along the side and then throw it back in the oven for 10m, then the tough part starts, but it can be done. try not to pry too much around the tabs, you don't want to bend them. After you get them off, it will look like crap, put them back in the oven for another 10, then try and get the sealant off.

I haven't put mine back on yet. I did go with gray to match the truck, but didn't like it so went with black instead. Just a regular krylon spray can. Hopefully that will work.

So how you think you messed up your light?

I was thinking the oxford white on my lights would look pretty cool. Does anyone have any idea on how I might go about getting the oxford white (same exact paint on my truck) in a spray paint can? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

-Quick

I have seen (and bought) little cans of oxford white spray paint at Advance Auto. Go to the section where they have all the rattle cans, and you should be able to find it.
