Well, I put in my order to raptorretrofit.com today for the '13 OEM heads with the EvoX-R projectors, Osram 66240 bulbs, and 50w ballasts. Dawson said he thinks he can have them done in about 2-3 weeks. I'm stoked. Found a guy to buy my stocks as soon as I get the new ones in. So I'm going to try to do before (current heads) and after output pics so people can see the difference. Can't wait.

What's the price difference gonna set you back? Still over $800 I bet? They're gonna be badass though!

Yup. Over $800. It will end up being about double the price as what I could it for myself. It's worth it to me to not have to worry about screwing up some $1200 headlights in the process. I just hope the output difference is enough to make it worth the cost. But I think it will be.

Whew that's a lot of dough on top of the $1200+ premium to get those factory HIDs in the first place. I hope the difference in output is enough too.

Well...I couldn't help myself. I got to looking at Stage3's website again and decided to buy the SCT x4 tuner with 5 Star custom tunes. It comes with 5 of 5 Star's custom tunes as well as free lifetime tunes. I went with this lineup:

Custom Tune 1: 87 Octane Performance Tune
Custom Tune 2: 87 Octane Towing Tune
Custom Tune 3: 93 Octane Performance Tune
Custom Tune 4: 87 Octane Fuel Economy
Custom Tune 5: 91 Octane Towing Tune

I certainly don't mind the Diablo tune I have currently, but I've just been reading too much about how great 5 Star's tuning is and decided to pull the trigger. Hopefully I can sell the Diablo Intune and recoup some of the money lost by not going custom from the get-go. I can't wait to see what all the hype is about.

Will do. I've only heard good things about them, so I'm sure it will be awesome. I'll just have to experiment and find my favorite tune out of the five.

If you look on 5 stars site they list the performance and towing tune as the same thing. Actually they call it performance/towing. You might want to call stage 3 and find out what the deal is. I would hate to expect 5 different tunes and only get 3 with 2 duplicates.

Here is the page straight from 5 star

Hmmm...yeah, you're right. That's weird. They still have to send me the calibration sheet so I can tell them my setup for the tunes. I'll ask them then. Either way, they offer free tunes for life from 5 Star so I can eventually get every combo if I want. I imagine the SCT will only hold five at a time though. Thanks for the heads up.

I was gonna say the same thing about the perf/tow combo dealio. Doesn't really matter though. I still haven't bothered to ask about it after almost a year haha.

I hear you there also heard nothing but good things about them. Waiting to get the funds to buy mine. And if the tunes are in fact the same for performance/ towing then I would just get some thing like 87 performance/ tow 93 performance / tow 93 performance race 87 economy. 93 economy sounds like a good set of options to me

Yeah, I sent Stage 3 an email so I'll see what they say. Either way, I'm not worried about it because of the lifetime tunes that come with it.

I can't wait. I'm trying to find reviews of their tunes to see which one to try first. 5 Star lists their Performance/Tow tunes as being the best overall. So I'll probably give the 87 Octane Performance/Tow tune a try first. I'm hoping they get the tire size right as I know the Trail Grapplers aren't a true 295/60R20. In the calibration request form I tried to clarify this by giving them the actual dimensions of the tire, so we'll see how that turns out.

5 star offers performance only tunes as well as the more common performance/tow tunes. The only performance only tunes are 91 and 93 octane.
P/T comes in all flavors 87,89,91,93
Economy comes in all flavors too.
