Moved to Texas, Had to Buy a 2013 F150 King Ranch

Just recently moved to Texas and was in the market for a new truck. Could not pass up the opportunity to buy my first KR. This is my fourth F150 (and I'm only 26 ) so at this rate, I'll own about 35 in my lifetime. Anyway, I haven't been on this forum in forever. I traded in the 2010 FX2 My FX2 to get this bad boy. I only snapped a couple of pictures in the driveway. I'll get some better pics here soon. Right now, I'm planning the first few mods:
Bakflip Fibermax Tailgate light bar New fog light bulbs Led interior lights Auto Ventshade visors Weathertech floor liners Open to suggestions on a more aggressive tire that would look good on here. Attachment 10768 Attachment 10769 Attachment 10770 Attachment 10771 Attachment 10772 |

Attachment 10747 Attachment 10748 Attachment 10749 Attachment 10750 I must say I LOVE the HID headlights. These are my first and I now understand what the hype is all about. Ridiculously bright Attachment 10751 Came with a sprayed in bed liner from the factory: Attachment 10752 Attachment 10753 Attachment 10754 Attachment 10755 Attachment 10756 Attachment 10757 Attachment 10758 Attachment 10759 Attachment 10760 I am also seriously considering the Nitto Trail Grappler at 275/65/20 after looking at some of the threads on here. I don't want to raise it, I just want a more aggressive tire and one that fills the wheel well a little better. Edit: I also wanted to say that I know the traditional KRs have the dual paint jobs. I never really liked it all that much. When I saw that they now had the monotone paint, I fell in love. It is just a cleaner look in my opinion. |
Beautiful truck! Love the Kr's and I agree about the two-tone.
Where did you move from? In a few years I want to move away from New England and just curious how the move was. Texas looks like a good option to me. |
I moved from NC. I hired a moving company to do most of it, so it wasn't too bad. Harder on the wallet, but less stress on my end. I spread the drive out over two days. I could have done it in one, but I also had a wife, a 2 year old, and 3 dogs along for the ride. I love it here so far. Moving company took about 2 1/2 weeks to deliver the stuff after they picked it up in NC. That was the hardest part. Being without all of your stuff for that long can be rough.

nice ride....
there is a way to make the hids projectors even better but its pricey... |
Nah, they are plenty bright for what I need. I venture out to the country every now and then and they are more than bright enough for that. I see what everyone means about the "cutoff" effect that they have though. I kinda like that look.

I'm also curious about peoples' input on putting the 275/65/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on here. If anyone has them on their KR, or specifically these wheels, please share pics. I've been checking out other threads where people have them on their F150s and they sure are sharp looking. I think it would probably be between the Trails or the Toyo Open Country M/T. Not sure if Toyo makes them in that size though. I know Nitto does. I would also consider going wider than 275 if it fits without problems.

Gorgeous! Enjoy it!

Swapped the map and dome lights for LEDs yesterday. Looks a million times better. I did the same in my 2010 F150 and I think it is one of the best and cheapest upgrades for a vehicle. I also put the 9145 SilverStar fog lamps in. I haven't got to look at them at night to see if the color is closer to the HIDs or not. I plan to get some photos tonight.
I think my next purchase will be these LED puddle lamp replacements http://drivebright.com/home/shop/5w-...le-light-pack/ I'm also trying my hardest to hold out for Christmas for a lot of the other mods. I'm hoping Santa brings a LED Tailgate light bar, WeatherTech mats, and some Auto Ventshade visors. I've also already ordered the BakFlip FiberMax I gave her a bath on Friday to include a Leather CPR treatment. I must say, I am falling in love with this truck more and more each day. I am making excuses to drive this thing on a daily basis :) |

Here are some pics from the interior LED upgrade and the new Fog light bulbs:
Attachment 10665 Attachment 10666 Attachment 10667 This photo really shows how bright these LEDs are. My camera does not have a flash and there is little external light coming into the cab from my garage light. The entire interior is easily lit up. Far better than the stock lights Attachment 10668 Just the HIDs on: Attachment 10669 HIDs with Fogs: Attachment 10670 Well, the fogs are not quite as white as the HIDs, but it is much better than the stock 9140 bulbs that were in there. To me, its not worth finding LEDs to put in there strictly for color. I use my fogs during bad weather, so I would rather have them slightly mismatched than non-functional. |
Got the new LED puddle lamps in yesterday. If this ice/rain/snow ever stops, I might get them installed today.
