You can probably yell at them all you want, but do you think they are going to fork over the $2500-$3000 to replace the Sync system (parts and labor) if they do break it? I doubt they will since you probably aren't willing to pay them $1000 to install it.

Think risk and reward from their perspective.

Just something to consider...

Okay so here is the deal I own a farm and have a 04 f350 superduty crew long bed and this past thurs I purchased a 2010 F150 Crew Platinum, needless to say so many bells that Im a bit lost. I do want my crib midget in the back seat can view a dvd on some of our long roadtrips of 9+ hrs. So how is everyone liking this system? I also see that you can wire the brake wire to a ground and the DVD will continue to work. I already have a backup camera so I dont need it for that, is the in motion Nav been that handy for yall? Thanks for your input ~ AKTomboy

No you can't. The only way to have the DVD playing while in motion is the lockpick.

I use the NAV quite a bit - just enter an address and Samantha will guide you to your destination.

Yes there are a lot of bells and whistles. You're going to have to sit down and read the manual. If you don't you're going to be really frustrated.

Thanks for the reply, I have been reading the manual and got a pretty good handle on it so far just want to get the DVD working while in motion. I saw the idea to move the break wire to a toggle or groun on here seems to be working for others. Anywhos Ill prob just get this thing to be safe. Thanks again

On the older units (and some A/M ones), you could enable DVD in motion by simply connecting a wire to ground (or the e-brake).

With the 2009-10 HUs (Clarion), this method doesn't work.

I also was under the empression you could add a 2nd camera and that there were two video input available. I want a front camera along with my rear OEM camera.

Good luck dealing with them !
Well before I ordered mine I send them a email asking about front camera and they replied in reasonable timing I find that weird...and i still havent found the time to install it ....grrrr!!!

Has anyone installed yet? Would like a complete review. How did the install go? Does the nav voice instructions play in the background if passengers are watching a DVD?

Thanks

please think twice

I am a new 2010 Screw owner and want to share my experience. I had a 08 avalanche and installed a lockpick. I had it for about 13 months when my nav started showing me off by any where of 2-5 miles. I removed the lockpick and it my nav was stuck in the hack mode. The ability to enter destination still worked, but I couldn't get it to return to accurate tracking. On chevyavalanchefanclub.com some members reported the same problem. I contacted coastaltech.com sellers of lockpick via email and telephone messages for 2 weeks. Finally I caught someone on the phone and they basically told me sorry out of warranty, and they weren't responsible for any nav problems. I ended up having to replace the entire headunit. I traded it on my 2010 platinum. Take my experience for what it is worth. But read other experiences on the site I quoted. I was confidant it was an isolated problem, until it happened to me.

nice reply, it seems like the greatest thing since fire but i'm weary with it messing up the factory computer....seems like its a nice mod but i'm worried about long term effects and things not working out and leaving me with a nav that is worthless.....

Thanks

I've had mine installed for months now and it works great. I installed it mostly because I wanted to add a backup cam. I would not have installed it just for DVD in motion or the address input since I don't care about that so much.
