Anybody install a Nav Lockpick?
yes I watched the video, they make it look very easy but knowing me I'm gonna end up with spare parts left over.
Awesome! Post some feedback!
Go the the main web site. They have a video posted that shows the complete install. Take your time it should all go smooth.
Yea, the video wasn't working for me for some reason. I ended up reading the source code and getting the file that way. It looks like it takes some time to do, so I'll do it in a few days.
PM me your email address and I will email you the instructions for removing the unit.
Finally got my unit in the mail today (took a bit longer up 'here' to Canada) Clearly the company has enough market to produce these units, just commenting on some earlier posts trying to explain to me economics, haha. Of course many of you have also received and installed the lockpick into your wheels in the meantime.
The install went quite well, had to watch the install vid for F150's a few times to see what they were doing with the airbag. I found that there was no need to remove and slide back the middle console... took about an hour after I got all my tools together and that includes the 15 minute wait for the truck electronics to power down... I ended up mounting the actual lockpick unit just under the middle dash speaker plate (easy access for updates)
I'm quite happy with the 'factory' feel of the bypass. The cost - is it worth it? For the integration sure, for what its really doing no. Cutting off the gps signal and faking a park signal is most likely all they're doing for DVD/ NAV enables... oh well.. still a good product!
Peace out.

what do you mean cutting off the gps signal? how will the nav work without gps? thanks.
Hoosier,
The lockpick cuts off the gps signal to trick the nav into thinking its not moving (thus allowing DVD/ Full address input). The GPS is normally not cut off and your map will work most of the time. However when you request the DVD to show or request full address input ( by holding the call button on your steering wheel controls for 2sec+) the GPS signal is cut and your postion freezes on the map. You can update your postion by holding the steering wheel button again to turn off the lockpick features...
The lockpick starts up in standby everytime you start your vehicle so the map will work as expected each time you hit the road.
The gps signal cut is one of the things some people are not aware of with these kind of bypasses... So if you are taking a long road trip somewheres but the rest of the family wants to watch a movie AND your not sure of your next turn, you should update your gps location often by switching off the DVD bypass at regular intervals.

I installed my lockpick last thursday evening. I only had one ratcheting wrench (non power), so it took quite some time (about 2.5 hours). I did it by watching the video (which is very, VERY informative and useful). For mine, I mounted the lockpick update box right inside the center dash, by the floor. If you take my passenger kick panel off, it is literally right there. So no tools required, not even the wrench that you would need to get the top speaker off.
I will admit, I was surprised to read that the GPS is cut off while the lockpick features are being used, but it really isn't that big of a deal. Like another user said, just turn off the lockpick every so often to let it update, and you're good to go. I love how slick it works with integrating the steering wheel buttons into the operation.

Glad to hear we have a couple more successful lockpick installations, I should receive mine today and hopefully get it installed shortly. I am adding a backup cam so it will take a little more work.
why do you care what your gps is doing when you are watching a movie or inputting an address? The Nav TV unit cost more the 2x as the sync lockpick and the controls for NAV TV is on the radio instead of the steering wheel.

Have you watch the Installation video on the F150 is very Impressive how they done a good job on their research
