Uh oh, P0175, part 2. Who's next?
Uh oh, P0175, part 2. Who's next?
Well, the day I've been dreading has arrived, threw the dreaded P-0175 code today.
I was pulling into work, the row I park on and the truck was sputtering and shaking, I knew what was going down.
I shut it off and re-fired, still sputtering. I parked her and went to work
Arrived at the truck after work, checked the DTC's with the edge, P0175, sure enough, and put the truck back to stock.
I knew what would happen if I drove it but I had no choice. It stumbled for a while and I only got about 4 miles before I decided to shut her down. Called USAA to schedule my free tow and had her towed to Bankston Ford. I know one of the service managers there, he's a member here, good guy. Anyway I called him to let him know my truck would be coming in and for what reason. He said everything would be covered with the extended injector coverage for the 2005 5.4 engines.
So, now I'm without a truck, should be repaired by tomorrow afternoon.
They're going to fix the brake booster hose recall as well.

You make it sound like it was Friday the 13th.
At least the repairs are gonna be free and they will be performed under the eye of someone you trust. Could be worse.
I was in BFE GA when the transmission went out in my work truck. over $4K by time repairs were made and they paid me to sit in a hotel room.

Yikes! Stealth that does suck, I know the feeling though and the feeling the next person will have! Maybe we can do this once a week
just kidding guys this fiasco sucks hard..
At least your dealer is taking care of you. I'm currently in the market for a new dealer to do my warranty work.

Am I screwed? Around what mile mark do we look for the "symptoms"

It can happen at any mileage. The injectors stick open, causing a possible hydrolock condition. I don't think mine got to that point, but threw the code nonetheless.
I've got a 10/06 build date, so I should be fine hopefully.
I think mine was built 11/04, bought it 06/05. I have 72,000 miles on the clock now.
It's weird, I've had these weird issues in the past, where I'd stop at a sign or light and it would stumble just once, and this would only happen maybe once every 4-5 months or so. Don't know if this is related to injector issues or not.

Damn, I do NOT want it to happen. Only have a little over 18,000 on it though.
Which I'm still arguing with them about. I was planning to call edge today and ask a few questions but didn't get around to it..
Yeah, you got the shaft on that deal. I still can't understand it.
