That was the same post I was talking about as well.
Hopefully man! Its absolutely no fun at all. It's even less fun when your footing the bill and getting screwed

I just hate going outside and not seeing my truck in the driveway.

Oh well, short block or long block, this failure will help me keep the truck 72,000 miles longer.

Many got the letter, some didn't. Doesn't mean you're good if you didn't get the letter.

Update:

Truck is all torn down. The short block has been authorized and ordered. I have decided to have the other 7 injectors replaced. I'm going to call Ford CS to see if I can get them to eat part of the cost since theoretically I am saving them money by having them replaced. Never hurts to try. :o

I dropped mine off this morning at the dealer, cranked quick this morning with a high rev. No CEL yet, hopefully they can find the codes and get it corrected before any damage is done.

Wouldn't the dealership have an easier time trying to approve that for you, or are they at least going to try? Or, did they already try, get denied, and now their hands are tied unless you can pull it off?

I'm thinking with the amount of work that's going to be going on replacing the shortblock of your truck that the dealer should be willing to do the other ones for the cost of the injectors only.

The dealer does not care one way or the other. They are just a middle man. It's between Ford and the customer. Quite often, a customer can get some results from the Ford customer service if they say something about not ever buying a Ford again, and neither will one of your 15 kids. Worked for me when I had a Silverado.

That's exactly what they're doing. What I'm saying is Ford should pat me on the back for ante-ing up and doing them a favor, or at least that's what I think.

I mentioned that, but they said it wouldn't hurt if I called.

So last week I had p0172 thrown (just cleared it, thought it was a fluke), but then yesterday it was p0175. I have an 06, so I don't know if I'm impacted by this issue. Anyone have an idea? I have to take a couple big trips in the next couple weeks, and don't want to get stuck.

I'm very surprised his engine hydrolocked while starting. Usually the starter isn't strong enough to bend anything internally.
