Im wondering if its the program in the PCM or just the injector design or maybe a voltage spike that is causing this? Besides i have a build date of 8/05 and bought in 2/06 and has 35k now.

I don't have a tune either. Is it possible to get them to just change them out, to avoid the problem?

Yes, but you'll be footing the bill.

From everything I've read and Ford's take on it is that the injectors are faulty. They lose their charge and don't stay closed.

Also, they change out only the bad ones. Leave the others in there to go bad later.

I sure hope I don't see that code. With 132,000 miles on my ride, the warranty has been long gone. Will end up having to fix it myself should this ever happen. How extended is the injector coverage?

Very early build '06s have the same injectors as the problematic '05s.

POS injectors. Ford changed vendors for the '05 model year. I think in mid '06, they went back to the vendor that provided the '04 injectors (which are fine).

120,000 miles, 11 years. I'd seriously think about changing them for peace of mind.

My Ford service guy called me this morning, the truck hydrolocked on the technician when he tried to drive it in the shop.

Looks like I shut her down just in the nick of time. :o
