Love my F150 but, the Titan
My this got a little ugly at the end...
I'm a firm believer that we should both welcome guest on each others forums. With debate comes knowledge. With knowledge we can aspire to do great things...
As long as a debate is carried on with civility...we both stand to gain valuable information. I've learned a lot reading through this thread....
I'm still bummed about learning my truck is UGLY!
Have a good night boys!

First thing I love my 05 supercrew. I got tired of reading all of the pages about this topic so I don't know if anyone has knowledge of this? The Titan of 07 gets a horse power gain. Its now 317hp and 385 tq. I love my truck but I'm with alot of people here in thinking that something has to be done with the engine. They need to put more power in it or do something.
I still think my truck is awesome and I haven't seen any other truck with the automatic shifter on the floor and not on the column. That was actually a huge selling point for me because it gave me the option of being different from the other trucks out there.
I would be pissed if Ford did come out with a new engine (because mine would be old) but so grateful cause at least someone can represent for us. Without being supercharged etc.. Eveyone is upgrading performance except Ford we have been the same since 04. I would like to add that people always try to mess with me on the Freeway that is why I would like the extra power in the Fords just to shut those people down.

My dad drives a 2004 Titan SE. I have found that overall it is a pretty nice truck... I wouldn't complain if I had one. But I would never buy one.
I couldn't see crap out of the windsheild or the side and back windows, and the interior seems cheap and plastic. My Lariat is much more comfortable and MUCH prettier. However, the Titan has a little more "get up and go" to it. I'll always be a Ford man anyway.

Remember.. WE need to support the US companies that helped make this country what it is today. I know alot of you will say BLAH,BLAH,BLAH about Nissan building them in the US but that's not the same. We all know what we should do..JUST do it..
I tried but he wouldn't do it;
My across the street neighbor has a 2005 Titan. It's silver, as is my F150. His truck is very similar in size to my Reg Cab STX and of course a very similar color.
So as my wife is a pretty good photographer I tried to talk him into a side by side photo session comparing the trucks, finish, interior, engine compartments, wheels, etc.
Just to let people see how these two trucks hold up. His truck is six months newer than mine but has two thousand more miles, so it would be fair.
I don't blame him for failing to cooperate. My F150 is glossy, shinny and looks better than the day I bought it. His Titan looks like a pickup truck... plus his paint is starting to oxidize. He hand washes it about once a month and sometimes takes it through the local brushless car wash. The truck looks about five years old. Nissan has a problem with paint here in the desert.
He wouldn’t even race me.
His truck is faster than mine, but when I offered to run him, just for fun he wouldn't do it. Seems a red Lightning that lives down our street 'hurt him real bad' last spring and he won't race trucks anymore.
Too bad as while he would surely have beat my little 4.6, it still would have been fun. And I wouldn’t mind seeing how my little truck with tuner, exhaust and intake would fare against his bigger mill. Just to see. I’ve beat several brother Fords with the 5.4, but they were all stock and heavy Screws.
Oh well, I will keep after him. At least for a photo shoot.

Who gives a crap which truck is fastest? Does that help you towing? Hold a load?

What's crazy is I drive an F150 Every day, have been for the last 3 Years, and I have never said to myself "Gee, I wish I had 11 more horse power", or, "Dang, I wish I would have gotten to 60 miles per hours .8 seconds faster."
It's a Truck!!

Hey I know its a truck. I bought a air intake and a exhaust so I could get those 11 or so more ponies out of my truck and the majority of people on here probably have something done to enhance there truck as well.
More often then not I do wish I had the extra horse power. Its not a .8 sec difference, that can be overcome by reaction time etc. Its 2 seconds etc. I think about it all the time when I'm on the freeway I have to wonder Is this guy next to me going to speed up and block me from getting by all of this traffic. Or Will I be able to take this guy off the line at a light so I can get around him etc.
Yes I understand its a truck I use it to haul my gang boxes around along with materials for work. Buts its also my everyday driver. Besides that I love my truck and I want it to get the respect it deserves. I would like to have the best of both worlds my truck with all its room and comfort (of a ford) and some better more comparable performance.
If it is only a truck why did they make the SRT-10, or lightnings why even sell performance parts at all. I bought my truck and I want it to be all my beast can be. I want other manufactured trucks to fear the F150.

Tough Talk: Understanding Torque versus Horsepower
Horsepower is the stuff legends are made of--think screeching tires and checkered flags--but unless you're a NASCAR driver, horsepower has little to do with your everyday driving experience. Fact is, torque should matter more to the real-world motorist.
Why is that? Horsepower is the measure of your engine's peak power output at a relatively high engine speed (RPMs or revolutions per minute). It dictates how fast your vehicle can go. Torque, however, measures your engine's efficiency at a lower RPM. Torque figures show how much actual work (accelerating, hauling, towing) your engine can do in normal operating conditions.
So what? Ford research shows that most motorists rarely reach the engine speed needed for peak output (about 5,000 RPMs). In fact, drivers usually operate their engines at less than 2,500 RPMs 95% of the time. Because of this, it's torque statistics--not horsepower--that are the best measure of your vehicle's power and efficiency.

it's fun messing around with other trucks out on the road but I could care less which truck is the fastest. like someone else said, if I wanted speed, I would've bought a car.
