Love my F150 but, the Titan
Isn't spending billions of dollars on new plants considered spending their money here? I don't care who makes the vehicle, as long as it is quality, meets my needs, and is fun to drive. Nissan has had a very positive impact on the U.S., and will continue to do so.... Let me guess, now anyone who buys a Chevy isn't supporting America because of the whole Nissan/GM thing. That also is helping give back to our country. If it was Ford and not GM working with Nissan, I don't think any of you would be on here bashing them. Just my .02, everyone will have a different opinion. Altho, again, I would like to point out, this all started because "hey, the titan ain't half bad"... I am really impressed it has stayed this mellow for this long

However, when a thread goes downhill due to others coming in and banging their drum out of beat with the masses and that banging causes me to endure some level of a headache from it, I will deal with it.
This is what happened here. A headache was developing.
I'm glad those guys like their trucks. That's fine with me. I could honestly care less if they're here but, to join only to participate in an adversarial thread was strike numbers one and two in my book. Quite frankly, I knew strike three would come shortly thereafter but, I was hoping I'd be wrong.
Be it a provoked attack or not, it was uncalled for. The commentation offered by guys from our F-SERIES message board would be of the same connotation as comments elsewhere under similar situations... It's like wearing a White Sox jersey into Wrigley Field. You're going to catch some slack... it's up to the White Sox jersey wearer to endure and pull for their team in a manner that is not detrimental to the cause. That wasn't demonstrated and thus, I intervened.

i think any truck that a person owns if it is making the owner of it happy then its a good truck to them and no one else should argue the point. i like both trucks and would buy either one of them. my next truck however if i stay in the light duty class of truck it will be a toyota or nissan.

Well said, it all depends on a person’s personal preference.
My this got a little ugly at the end...
I'm a firm believer that we should both welcome guest on each others forums. With debate comes knowledge. With knowledge we can aspire to do great things...
As long as a debate is carried on with civility...we both stand to gain valuable information. I've learned a lot reading through this thread....
I'm still bummed about learning my truck is UGLY!
:o
Have a good night boys!

Who in the hell buys a pickup truck based on it's speed off the line? Thats just bull****. If you're that guy stop what you're doing and go by a CAR. Then go to that owner website and cry about losing to a rice burner with an exhaust and tuner....
Who gives a crap which truck is fastest? Does that help you towing? Hold a load?

I almost bought a Titan but there were quite a few benefits to the Ford as well. One big one for me was the quiet, smooth ride. Titan owners seem to be a bit proud so the used price for those was not justified in my opinion. Made my decision easy. Still like the Titan and may consider it next go round.
well it seems this thread stumbled a bit and is picking itself back up nicely
both trucks have there good points..
both trucks have there bad points..
titans have more bad points then good ones in my opinion..
there max payload is less.. there ride sucks and i didnt get a truck to see who could get to the Home Depot faster..so you titan guys on the " i got a faster truck" ban wagon can stick it..
but all in all, because of this thread i seem to look at my local titans roaming around with a little less prejudice and more respect.. in fact they're looks seem to be growing on me..
atleast Titans dont hurt my eyes like Tundra's do

I own an 05 nissan titan k/c 4x4 off road and wanted to come in here and shed some light, not start any trouble. First, I wanted a ford after drdiving my fathers. It just didn't do it for me. It is a sharp truck, but I really like the way the Titan looks more. I feel this is subjective as many of you do. However, towing capacities are very similar. Mine will tow 9,700 and I believe that the F-150 will tow 10,000. I am willing to lose the extra 300 lbs of towing capacity for the added performance. Anything of 10k, and you should have a superduty anyway. As for all of the Jap comments, the Titan is 100% designed and built here in America. This is not true for domestic trucks with many having final assembly plants in Canada and Mexico (notice I said many, not all. Check your truck. A lot of Fords have a final assembly site in Canada thus making the Titan more american.) Yes you could argue that the company is Japanese, but the truth is it is like any other major auto maker and has investors all over the world; this includes Ford. I like Fords. My brother is a Ford mechanic. I like the Super duty trucks and the f-150. I LOVE the new mustangs. But, apples to apples, in my opinion, the only thing that ford trucks have over nissan is interior (and I really like the way my interior looks, but I give you that it looks cheap by comparison). Also, the 4.10 gear doesn't only come on trucks with the tow package, they also come on the trucks with the off road package.
Well glad to see this one is showing a bit of a turn around.
I'm also glad to see that everyone agrees on some level that truck looks are subjective. Heck if everyone thought the F150 was georgous and the Titan was ugly then everyone would be complaining about driving the same vehicle as 100 million others compared to thousands of others. (Goes both ways on brands)
I'm glad to see that on someone level everyone agrees that each vehicle has positives and negatives. One thing I've learned that nothing in life is perfect, just find what meets your wants and needs and go with it. I say wants because all of us know the majority of people with trucks technically don't "need" them. (I'm defining need by saying you directly use this vehicle for work purposes on a daily basis, and no driving to work doesn't count.)
I'm also glad that some owners of a "rival" vehicle can join a forum and engage in constructive criticism and add to the forum.
I'm also glad that forum members can accept these individuals, and both teach and learn from those individuals.
However, I'm sad that some individuals that are both "rival" vehicle owners and F150 owners choose to be combative and condencending. I really hope that will not continue as it's very immature and I'd like to think the majority of us can act as adults as we do have the ability to operate motor vehicles.
That's enough typing for me as I just had surgery on my right hand an hour ago and it's aching like crazy. So no more fighting because I don't want to have to type anything else.
Thanks,
Duke

I honestly like both trucks. My brother in law has a Titan and I drove for a week(yes mine was getting worked on). I loved the first day but after that nooooo. It had great pickup and I guess just b/c it was different and something I thought I liked it. Dont get me wrong it's a nice truck but not for me. And man it seats how many like 8? yeah that's right you could fit a small kid in that center console!!!. It's huge. It's not an arm rest it's a body rest. I layed up there and took a nap one day. I was very happy when I got my truck back. The ride is just much smoother. When i drive my f150 I can let my wheel go for a second but if you let the Titan sterring wheel go you better be ready. It was number 2 on my list. Just cant get by the bulky interior. It is a nice looking truck when lifted but not my cup of tea stock.
mytmax98, nice response but overshot our towing capacity...most of us don't compete with 9500lbs but are close. Reg cabs w/hd package are @ 10,500 this year though. Regardless, I didn't buy this truck to tow. I bought the 150 for it's interior/exterior quality, the problem free pleasure with my last F150, features, I dig the design, price, and that is about all I can think of. I'm impressed with the quality, but the powertrain (other than the axles) is just not what I was hoping for, but it's not terrible either.
I was a proud owner of a 04-F150, but it had the great vibration between 50-65 mph and 65-50mph when out of overdrive. I too use the X-plan, but when I went to lemon law court and the engineer rep for Ford, Said, "We listen to our customers, give them what they want, a box frame and the sound in the range mentioned is inheritent (sp), I had the SuperCrew F150 everthing on it except leather. I have always believed there was no better truck then ford and this was my third one. I got a sour taste and Ford let some of us down.
So I did not use the X-plan and decided to try the titan, I have the Crew Cab also, little more room than the ford, my wife likes it only because the smooth ride in the ford made her sick and my daughter alike. In the mountain in VT, she road nice and I loved it expect the strong vibration.
Yes, there is different in both vehicles and I tow a 4600 lb camper with mine and no problem, it would be the same with the Ford. But I did not buy my truck to race anybody.
Thank you for letting me talk. I still believe in Ford!

The looks also differ between color and packages. One of my neighbors has a loaded dark red Titan and it looks awesome compared to the guy two doors down who has a dark red/maroon F150. Both are less than a year old but the Titan really stands out from that particular F150.
