Silvrdrgn,

I'm also interested in what dealer told you there is issues with the transmissions.

Soerens Ford in Brookfield, Wisconsin (suburb of Milwaukee). They're on the corner of Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road.

Do they know what the issue is with the transmission or is this just a guess at resolving the issue?

Thumbs down

I have an Fx4 with the 3.73 LS and no driveshaft problems. However I'm still waiting on my 3 275/65/18 Goodyears to come in. Supposedly my vibration is from flat spotted tires. My dealer had to call the plant in Michigan to get them to send tires. I've been waiting almost 2 weeks. anybody else had a problem with these tires?

I went down a different part of highway and my shook bad. But it's only that few miles long and it stops. Surface change is what caused mine .

Ford has confirmed to them, via their calls direct to the engineers, that it is a transmission problem. I don't have the details on what exactly the problem is, but I'll for sure be finding out after they get it replaced.

If this is a transmission issue then that's a much bigger problem than I expected; however it doesn't suprise me considering they replaced my rear end, road force balanced my tires, added the dampner, replaced and adjusted my drive shaft several times, replaced tires with other tires and rims, ect.

Ron,

that sounds like my truck. Here is my status. Road Force balance, new rear end, drive shaft re-indexed twice, even tried new chrome wheels, new aluminum wheels with michellins, and nothing but a statement from the dealership saying it is now considered normal since they couldn't fix it.

I've had my FX4 for exactly a month now and have accumulated 2,900 miles and I'm still trying to feel the "vibe"

The vibration is most definitely NOT normal. Even the technician that drove my truck (I was riding in the passenger seat) said it's not. Paraphrasing his words: "There's no way a truck that costs as much as these do should feel like that going down the road." You should find a different dealer or go to the DSB (dispute settlement board) process. Worst case - Lemon Law.

Mine didn't start until I had between 8,000 and 9,000 miles on it.

I have already filed for lemon law status with the Ohio AG's office. I have my application for Fords DSB filled out as well. My problem is not only did the vibe not go away but it seems to do it at more places now. My case was driving at speeds above 55mph then slowing down to 55mph and the damn thing felt like it was wobbling and vibeing. Needless to say it still does this.

new vibrating f150 owner

i wish i would've seen these forums before deciding to buy a 2004 f-150. I purchase my silver 2wd supercrew with the 5.4L engine on nov 1st, and noticed the vibration on the way home. Took it back to the dealer today (nov 4th), and they replaced my continental tires with michelin's. Guess what..... it didn't help the vibration situation at all, but I'm sure that doesn't suprise any of you guys.

terpsfan2000,

Sorry to hear that man. Like I've said, I love my truck just not the vibe. I'm hoping they can still come up with a fix. Good luck, don't let them tell you it's normal. They like to spew that.

@ terpsfan2000 and DrkShadow,

My vibration problem was solved by a very good dealership, and their willingness to completely go through the steps of TSB # 04-3-3. They ended up replacing the transmission in my truck.

The entire saga/adventure is detail in my thread at this -> LINK.
