and now back to the vibration...........
I thought I have read about some 04's with a 2 piece driveshaft. I have 1 piece. Check out this site I came across. They talk about the 04's having a 2 piece driveshaft. I did email them with our vibration issues. Let me know what you think and if you have a 1 or 2 piece D.S.

HOW MANY HAVE THIS??????
I have sold literally a hundred P221(2005 body) F-150's
and not ONE customer has complained of VIBRATION.
I have gotten a new truck for myself every two years
since 1996, and never had one with this problem.
Wheel nibble, my truck had that. Road force balance
determined one BF Goodrich tire out of acceptable specs,
and was replaced. No nibble, no vibration.
NO CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS!
It must be an issue however, because I looked up the TSB
on OASIS (Ford service dept. system) and found a
fix for it, which you guys have published on here
many times.
Do any of you guys have this
DAMPER device installed? Did it work?
Nothing worse than separating a ton of money
from your wallet on a truck and have an annoying
nagging problem.
THIS TRUCK SHOULD NOT BE BUZZING YOUR BUNS
WITH VIBRATION!
IF IT DOES NOT GET FIXED, ASK ABOUT WHAT IS CALLED
A SUBSTITUTION OF COLLATERAL, IT IS BASICALLY FORD
BUYING BACK THE TRUCK, AND PUTTING YOU INTO A NEW
ONE DUE TO AN UNFIXABLE PROBLEM!

suncoast ford,
I had the following things done to my truck and still have the vibration:
Road force balance of my tires
Shim Kit installed- ring and pinion
New Driveshaft
Drive shaft angle changed
New Rear end installed
Dampner installed
There isn't much more you can do. I still have the vibration.

Isn’t that “The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act” (lemon law) you’re referring to?
Check this thread out.
This guy had a 03 F150 Screw they declared a lemon over whine in the differential and a shudder in the transmission.

vibaration issue
I just signed on today and have been reading the posts about the vibration issue at higher speeds. I too have experienced the same concern with my truck. It hasn't been consistant, so I havn't taken it seriously yet. But after reading all of these posts, I'm thinking about addressing the issue further.
My main concern about the truck though is a vibration from a stopped position accellerating left or right. When the wheels are turnd from a stop postion, there is a rummble noise when I accellerate that shakes the whole truck. This usually is more noticable and more intense with a load. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it too may be linked with the same problem of the higher speed vibration everyone is discussing.
I had this checked out at the dealer and even went on a test drive with the mechanic and of course could not get the truck to make the vibration on the test. "Typical" So i've just forgot about it until now. I'm hoping this forum and others will create enough concern that ford will find and fix this problem and let us know through a reacall or something. Other than this minor problem,I am so pleased with my new truck...i just want to enjoy it.

Looks like I am still in the group of unhappy F150 owners with the vibration problem. I have had mine back from the shop since Mon. the 12th. As of this afternoon I am pretty much convinced it is worse than when I took it in. They replaced the rear d/s and installed the dampner. Now the truck vibrates and shakes when I hit a bit of rough pavement and continues to shake. I did not have this prior to the visit to the shop. I feel it worse in the seat and steering wheel than I ever did. They even managed to ding up the wheels and center discs when they supposedly balanced and rotated the wheels/tires. I will be at the dealer bright and early Monday morning looking for some good answers. Ford needs to get this problem solved. There is also a question about the replacement shaft. Suspect it could be an older version. Soon to find out.

I had exactly what you are referring to as well as a vibration while driving as well. I took the truck in a week and a half ago - they put a "friction plate" on the back side of the truck - it eliminated the tire vibration when turning however the vibration while driving is much much worse. The truck goes back in Tuesday for further diagnosis.
Right now I have a set of keys and change in my ashtray that constantly vibrate between 58-65MPH. The vibration at all speeds is evident when I drop the rear windows and the front windows and go any speed above 35MPH - it is beyond tolerable when I do that. So, if they cannot deal with this issue I will have them take off that friction plate as I could live with the truck vibration on turns but NOT all the time as it is now. Let me know if you need part numbers etc from my invoice and I will send them along.

Has anyone had their transmission replaced? I have wondered if its in the tranny. . . . I did a small test today with mine, while going up a slight grade, once you get to the "sweet spot" for the vibration, kick off the O/D and see if the vibe is still there. . . Mine actually went away.
I'm going to try this a few more times with mine this weekend.
Still scheduled to have mine back in the shop next week.

My '04 Supercab has a two piece driveshaft and 3.55 limited slip rear. I noticed today on a fairly hard turn accelerating uphill, I felt and heard a rumbling from the rear of the truck. Might be the clutches in the differential chattering, I dunno. I haven't since been able to duplicate it, so I'm not really gonna worry about it right now.
I have pretty much decided not to take my truck back to the dealership until there is a firm resolution from Ford. I have given the dealership plenty of oppurtunity to resolve this issue with letting them go through the TSB and taking guidance from Ford Engineers. I'm not sure they can do any more to my truck to get the issue resolved. I don't like the idea of replacing parts in hopes of resolving the issue.

I feel exactly the same way, PALongbow. I have an appt. this Thursday morning that I am going to cancel because I don't want them replacing parts with little guarantee that it'll even remedy the problem. And there's always the chance that they'll tear the whole thing down and it'll sit in their possession for who knows how long while I am forced to drive my '98 Civic - eww.
The dealership did give me an 03 Taurus to drive for the four weeks while they had my truck. The problem is I can't stand driving cars. I feel to low to the ground.
I found the temperary fix for the vibration issue. Turn the the stereo volume up on high and set the bass settings to maximum. Insert a good heavy metal rock CD in your player and drive. You won't be able to tell which vibrates the cab more....the sound system or the rear end. If you want addtiional rear end vibration dampening just roll the windows down while driving. That will provide a ton of vibration that will cover up the rear end vibration. Trust me they both work......LOL!
That's my recommeded fix for all you guys that are experiencing this issue.

Vibration
I have a 2000 Expy. I also had a vibration. To make a long story short; Ford rebuild rear end two times, replaced front drive line, two ider arms, transmission mounts, wheels, I replaced tires two times(Ford said it was a tire problem). When the dealer started lieing to me I sued Ford for breach of warranty and won. Bottom line... the drive shaft and ider arms did it for me.
