PAlongbow,

Does your vibration go away when you put your trans in neutral or shift out of overdrive. Mine does not change doing any of this?

tjaas,

I have tried just about everything and the vibration still exists. I believe the only fix is to get into a new truck and hopefully the new truck doesn't have the same issues.

Well, I got a call today that my new driveshaft is in. This will be the third one, hopefully it will fix it. I have to keep my hopes up because I like my truck. I would think that at some point in time with a vibration like this something will fall of or break and point out the exact problem. Hopefully it doesn't have to go that far. I'll tell you what it is like when I get my truck back.

The dealer called today and my check engine light issue has been resolved with a PCM update. There is a TSB in regards to some specific codes.

They are checking the vibration issue with some sort of tool that measures vibration. I'm not sure of the details.

hi folks....

What a sorry state of affairs...
Well i have a o4 since May and I was having a slight Vib and now i am getting steering ocsalations (is this the dreaded nibble) talked to the deler rep just need to figure out when I can do without the truck for a day or too.

Now concerning ford blowing off the problem as "a charistic" of the truck while I am not a lawyer and generially avoid them I would think there are enough of o4 owners to start a class action suit.

That just might get their attention!

Unhappy

I've got a 04 F150 Supercrew 5.4 3V 3.55 L/S axle

I Noticed a Slight Steering wheel nibble & Body Vibration at 2K Took it in at 3K for service & mentioned this to them

Damper & Driveshaft were done & Balance Tires took it back 3 days later with the Steering Wheel Shaking Bad between 55-65 MPH [Note the Body Vibration was fixed]

Roadforce Balance of Generals & 3 Replaced Shake still there but reduced

Took it back a week later Shaking Bad again that was Monday last week 07/19/2004

I've been told they done something with the Rack & Pinon & that they had noticed the Axle whine during a Test Drive & fixed that but still haven't solved the Steering Wheel Shake which according to my Service Adviser has gotten Worse

I was told late this afternoon that another Roadforce Balance was done & another tire or 2 were being replaced I'll know more Wed AM - 07/28/2004

If this isn't fixed I'll talk with them about it being a Lemon

I'll Update Tomorrow

Its amazing, I have the same vibration problems. I have 3:55 with after market rims and the Goodyear at/s 18" that are supplied on most '04 s. Took the truck in to get the tires balanced, still no change, and the tire shop claims that all tires were in perfect balance. I quess I'll have to get up with the thread to find out if Ford will finally do something about this vibration. I was almost ready to give up on the issue and just say it was normal, but going from a '98 XLT to '04 FX4, I thought I was going to get a better ride. Guessed wrong!

It was meant to be taken in the context for Ford to stop (fix) the whining, vibration, etc. problems; not trying to offend anyone with a problem

jpdadeo,

I have seen your posts all through this thread. We get it already! We know your truck has no issues. Good for you man! I'm happy to know that there are those that don't have issues. If you have something constructive to say about the vibration issue then say it and get on with it.

It's good to see that people are communicating what is going on with this issue. I have learned alot from others that are going through this.

I test drove a truck that had it bad. If you have to ask you dont have it. This truck shook something terrible. You could feel it in the floor, seat, stearing wheel etc.

I guess there is a lot these vibrating problems if the whole globe is whining about it.

Evidently he doesn't have anything better to do.
