The dealership that you work with needs to be willing and able to take you through all of the steps of TSB # 04-3-3 in order to get it resolved.

Request that your dealer service manager contact an FSE (Ford Service Engineer, I think) to check out your problem truck. If the FSE can not or will not help or fix your truck go to the DSB and after that then use your states lemon law. Remeber the DSB can only help you If you have had the truck serviced within your 36 months/36,000 mile warranty peroid and most state lemon laws are only within 12 months/12,000 miles.

I'm at 5500 Miles now and 5-6mo. of ownership with 3 dealer visits. The first dealer actually said that TSB 04-3-03 did not apply since it didn't mention vibe in the wheel. The guy was a punk. Thus the reason for dealer #2. Think I'll try #3 and work directly with the service manager. SilvrDrgn, your sounds a lot like mine with the vibe. Seems like a high freq vibe with a slight nibble at times.

A FSE looked at my truck couldn't fix it and deemed it normal? Admitting there is a problem trying for 22 days to fix it, trying five different items to fix it is, in my book, an acknowledgment of a PROBLEM. I sent the DSB papers today.

PALongbow,
How long did it take from submission to getting a date? I'm going to schedule my 4th and probably final visit this Friday before going DSB. Ford will need to pay to have my Stereo removed and installed in the replacement vehicle as well. I'll worry about that when it happens. I was hoping to hear more about the vib. meeting in another thread, hoping for a real fix/recall.

DrkShadow,
It took the DSB about three weeks to gather infomation from my dealership and contact me for a hearing date. I believe the DSB states in the initial letter that a hearing date will be set within 40 days. I spoke to a DSB representative today in regards to gathering additional information for the hearing. So far the DSB has been very helpful and pleasant to work with.

PALongbow,
Please man how have you sayed patient through all your ordeal? I'm ready to totally loose it myself.
1st dealer: no prob found (1 trip)
2nd dealer: 2 rebals, you feel the road more with the new suspension (2 trips)
Took truck to Hibdons Tire Plus for rebal. Maybe Ford doesn't know how to balance tires?
3rd dealer: 2 rebals, it might be the tire patten according to this dealers "master" tech who I drove with. (2 trips)
This time I chatted with the service manager. I told him, 5 rebals? Why would it be fixed this time? Told him there's 2 TSB's for vibe issues and only step Ford has done is "rebal, rebal, rebal, rebal, rebal". I said, if this is "normal", or "tire pattern", or "sensitive suspension", why didn't the truck do it when it had 5 miles? Needless to say he just did a bit a snoozing and said, please drive it and if your still having problems, bring it back and we can call Ford on it. Whatever that means.
How many tech's drove your truck and blew off your vibration as: I don't feel it, sen. suspension, tire pattern before you finally got the dealer to do more steps?
This is insane. They didn't even say anything about my rough idle. The work sheet I got had tire as line 1, line 2 issue for IDLE says "related to Line 1". How is a rough IDLE related to tires? $()#*()#$ I'm tired of this.
Sorry had to vent tonight. Up since 3am and I'm tired of seeing the damn break room/loaners of all the local Ford dealers while they rebal my tires a few dozen times.

DSB meeting went well. I had ten minutes to present my case to the board. basically the board wanted me to present any new documentation; however I believe that I had everything in order so I pointed out the high lights of the documentation. I also referred them to this board for education purposes in regards to the vibration issue.
They did not ask me any real questions other than why I waited until 3,000 miles to bring the truck in. I told them that I wasn't sure what was going on, and that I visited other Ford Truck sites and noticed that the vibration issue others were having was similar to what I was experiencing. It took me some time to figure out that it wasn't a characteristic of the truck.

I got a warranty question for you guys. I've not read all the fine print yet on the manuf. warranty yet but I'm considering just taking my truck to a driveline shop, have the driveshaft removed, inspected for balance & length and put back on. That wouldn't void a warranty for some reason would it?
Thought it would make my life easier since the DS could be narrowed out as the cause then focus on tranny. At least I could prove to the dealer there is something wrong. I guess I'll wait and see what the dealer does today. Gonna drop it off, 6th visit, and see what happens. This time the service mgr. say's they might call Ford. I'd be happy if they jsut did the F(*#$ing vibration analysis. You can't dispute that if it does indeed show the Hz that the TSB's mention.

update
I just had a Ford Rep. call me today. She has been reviewing my DSB case ( scheduled for 11/24 ). She said Ford has a FIX for the vibration issue scheduled to be released the end of this month. She offered me an extened 5yr 75,000 mi warrenty to close my DSB case and use the fix. If is does not work I could re-open and continue forward with the DSB. She could not tell me what the fix was though.......I am a little leary of this. She did admitt it is a WIDESPREAD problem. I have to accept the offer before my case is heard though.
