The 03-04 lightning wheels are 4ish pounds lighter per wheel, which is pretty substantial weight savings in unsprung and rotational mass. Also ditched the heavier Pirelli P-Zero runflat tires. Not sure the exact savings on those. But the truck feels SOOO much better! It just glides down the road now. I wish I made the changes sooner
Did you do like I did and get them from LMR? I wish they had them in 9.5 or 10" wide. 295's look beefy from the back like my truck.

Yes they are from LMR.

There is another company that sells them as 20x9.5 but they are more expensive per wheel

I figured if the 285s don't hook up well enough,, i could always order the 20x9.5 and go 305s out back

Yeah, on the 20x9 I went with a 275/40/20. With 3.31's the shorter tire wasn't going to hurt me. On my truck with a 20x10 I have a 295/40/20 with a 3.55 gear.

I've been lurking here on and off for a few years and this thread made me create an account just so I can say that this is incredible. Awesome job Pat!

And as someone with a '97 F-150 with the 4.6 that has 250k on it and needs to be replaced, I just might have to PM you some time in the future to see what you would charge to do drop a coyote into my truck lol.

I don't think you even want to know how much that would cost and how long it would take.
