Normally I don't care for lowered trucks, but your's is clean and slightly understated. Simply a magnificent example of what can be done by an individual with enough talent and time.

Never did update this thread, but I did finally get my PTM bumper and 03 Harley valence installed. This picture is prior to my bumper gap fine tuning

virtually the same size yes.
chrome wheels most recently had 275/35R20 all the way around
silver wheels are staggered 275/35R20 and 285/35R20

Hey @Patman

I joined this forum just because of your truck! I read through the whole build yesterday, you’ve done an incredible job with this thing.

I’ve got a couple questions, if you don’t mind me asking.

For the oil pan clearance, would it have been possible to cut the crossmember and fit the stock oil pan in place?

The steering rack, I want to do the same electric rack. Did you have and bumpsteer issues? Looking at the tie rod angle compared to the lower control arm made me think it would bumpsteer. I saw the part number for the tie rod ends, what was the application for those?

I'm sure I’ll have a couple questions for you later on, but that’s it for now.

I’ve done a few coyote swaps already, but they’ve been in mustangs. So I’m seeking out specific f150 info.

Oh, last question, is there anything you’ve done so far that would have done differently if you could go back? Anything you regret not doing?

Thanks in advance, William.

First of all thanks so much for the kind words! I truly appreciate it. Have you also checked out my YT stuff too?

Oil pan: if youre into fabrication, easiest would be modify the Gen1/Gen2 steel oil pan itself.

Steering: no bump steer, or way less than before. I dropped a bunch of unsprung mass and have a high quality shock that is double adjustable so I can really dial in compression speed which limits overall wheel travel.

outer tie rods: originally came mid 2000s trailblazer, but after a ton of catalog searching they fit the truck for length, and correct taper on the end. Feels like a custom touch, but its off the shelf parts. Score!!

Done differently or regrets? Hmm maybe doing OPG while I had the engine out would have been smart....

Awesome! The rack you used, it’s from a Mustang, correct? I’ve got a s550 electric rack already that I was planning to use on my f100. With this 98 f150 I just picked up, I was thinking about using a s197 rack since I’ll be using a gen 1 coyote setup. I don’t know how the electronics play between gen 1 and gen 2 Mustang racks.

I actually did modify my first coyote pan. I originally swapped my Mustang in 2017 and I had to cut the hump out of the pan so it would fit the k member. I imagine this could be the same thing. For whatever odd reason, I just don’t like aftermarket pans.

I have not looked at all your YouTube stuff yet. I checked out a few of the videos when I was going through the build thread. I’ll have to go back and look them over again.

Yes my steering rack is Gen2 Mustang (plug and play on my F150 donor harnesses)

A quick research on part numbers would tell you if there is any major difference between Gen1 and Gen2 steering racks
