now this is a pretty neat swap, but alll this/that trouble for 50 more hp and 125lbft of torque??? you could have done a bolt on lightning swap to the 5.4 and gained over 100hp..

My 5.4 was trashed and the V10's are easier to find and the same cost, that's why I did it.

125ft/lbs of tq is a huge improvement. Lightning swap would cost twice as much and if you have high miles is not worth it imo. But.. money aside would seem to be easier than swapping a v10

In my mind, you can't beat this mod for braggin' rights and sheer uniqueness ... A V-10 F-150, how cool is that!

I'm still rooting for you buddy. Keep up the hard work. This certainly has quite the unique bragging rights!

OK, I admit it, that was definitely a factor in the V10 decision!

That would be cool, but I have no need (or budget) for a diesel!

Thanks, I appreciate that! I can't tell you how many times I have considered selling the V10 and getting a V8 back in it.

I'm now toying with the idea of running the 5.4 PCM in "parallel" with the 6.8 PCM. I have no idea if I can do it, but I want the 5.4 PCM to do the PATS authentication then do a hot swap of sorts with an array of SSR's (Solid State Relays) to actually run the truck.

The other idea I had - again just brainstorming here - is to figure out if I can set up a waste spark type system to fire the extra cylinders. It would be inneficient because I'd be doing a waste injector spray too, but it would get me through emissions and then I could put the V10 PCM back.

I don't know... Just babbling. Thanks for reading

Id suggest taking it to a custom tune shop and seeing what they can do. I bet they can alleivate some of you Pats issues, and find some more ponys in that motor.

I want to see some hard accerlation vids from a stop. Id also like to see a 30 mph roll.

Also is the truck a f250ld? I didnt think you could get the 4r100 in a standard f150. It had to be a lighting, harley, or a f250LD.

I have already contacted two local tuning shops. Still waiting to hear back from the second one, and the first said they THINK they can do it if I buy a new (not used) PCM. Sorry, that's too expensive for maybe.

As far as videos - first of all, its slower than the V8, second, I don't have a speedometer to film!

No, it's not a 7700 or LD. From what I have read and heard, the "E" code for 1999 is the 4R100.

I still have not had time to talk to my ford tech. I am in the middle of getting ready to move to Guam under military orders. I should be stopping by there sometime this week. I will let you know what I find out. Sorry for the delay.

You have one of the rare F-150's with a 4R100. You also have 3.73 limited slip.
