Exhaust sounds good, no leaks, no vibrations, no additional cost!

I have not gotten on it hard yet because of the transmission, but there is a big difference in torque. I can tell it takes a lot less pedal to get the truck moving. I highly recommend this swap to anyone who has to replace their 5.4 or 4.6. If you do the work yourself, the additional cost is minimal.
kinda why im following the v-10 swaps lol! gonna keep the 4.6 til it goes, or until i get dad convinced that adding 2 mor cylinders will help the fuel economy lol!

I bet you could do this swap for free if you have a good low mileage running V8 to sell and you keep your eyes open for a good deal on a V10 or a wreck.

Oh, one added bonus I learned. The SD's didn't get PATS until 2008 so I didn't have to mess with that. The cluster thinks I'm stealing my truck though, the theft light is always blinking!

One boring ugly video as requested.

I need to replace that steering wheel cover and give the poor Ford a bath!

Very cool swap. Just read through it all. This would be nice to drop in my reg cab short bed when the 4.6 decides its had enough.

Despite the VSS issues, I put the hood on and drove it around today. It runs fantastic. Ford should have offered a V10 in the F150. I have no idea what my mileage is since I don't have an odometer anymore.

Turns out I should have notched the idler arm bracket. The A/C compressor hits it when accelerating briskly.

I noticed also that my horn no longer works. Fuses are all good though. I don't see how that could be related, but it definitely worked before the swap. PATS maybe?

Well crap.

I’m pretty sure I figured out what the odometer problem is. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix it.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/v6...-no-start.html

After reading that thread I think it throws the P0500 VSS error because it IS getting input from the VSS when the anti theft thinks it couldn’t possibly be running. The 2000 SD PCM has no PATS. Now what?
