182,000 miles, and I've been beating the **** out of it the whole time. Not a single damn mechanical problem. The oil pressure can still peg my mechanical gauge, and there is no smoke coming out of the tailpipe.
Best of all, it still keeps beating Chevies!

Great Truck

28,000 miles on a 2004 Scab w/5.4 3V. Dealer replaced plugs due to knock and replaced front brakes due to vibration/wear. No problems. Runs fantastic!

No under hood light and O/D button placement are my only complaints.

I'd buy another one!

Wow, you all don't drive very much.

'01 5.4 scab with 90,000 miles and a lot of those towing a 6000# TT and not a hiccup. 16mpg city and 10 towing since day one. Oil changed every 5000 religously.

Did add the K&N FIPK and Troyer 87 octane program back at 45,000, both a complete waste of money. Best mod was the rear anti-sway bar and E range tires.

Only complaint is the passenger side power door lock quit and power window is painfully slow.

Knock on wood, the engine has been by far the most reliable. Routine maintenance, and almost 180 000 km's on the clock. Really, I had to clean the T- body, IAC (then just replaced after a while) and belt because I thaught it was worn too much. There is a pin hole head gasket leak on the driver side, worst part is in the valley, but it seems to have stopped or gotten alot better. My thermostat was stuck open once and that's it. Really, everything else has been fantastic too. Trying to find the whistle, but it's not too bad. Tranny had a pump seal leak (warranty) and the rear a pinion seal leak (again, warranty) I am on my third rad, second went kaput after a year so it was a part warranty for the third. Typical other things like e brake, blendor, ghost wipes, dead odometer have been dealt with. Oh ya, it's a regular cab 4x4 too, built in Oakville, Ont.

I would like to join the club, bought my 97' 4.6Lwith 45,000K on it in 12-05, no previous problems with full documentation. it now has K&N 77 series, flowmaster 50 series, remote start, and doesn't leak any oil or consume any oil with 59,000K on the odometer.

I sold the 2 farm F150's (97 w/ 4.6 and 98 w/ 5.4) last winter. Between the two they had over 530K miles. Replaced an alternator on one of them (don't remeber which) and a water pump on the 5.4. Both had origional ACs and transmissions. They both burned a little over a quart of oil between changes (5k service cycle). The trim on both was in sad shape - these were work trucks that had the **** driven out of them. Hay farm - many hours sitting ideling or hooked to a load with the "help" running them wot and beating the crap out of them. Great trucks, both now belong to high school kids and are still running.

My daily driver is a 99 with a 5.4 and it has 94K on it. No problems except those that were neglected service items (IAC) or self inflicted.
