No problems of any kind with my 2000 so far.

My 98 5.4L died one time at a railroad crossing...but I moved the infamous wire bundle a few days later..and never had another problem.

>>>>12,800 miles and not any problems on my 4.6. For that matter no problems on my truck whatsoever. Only been back to the dealer for some touchup paint where my wife put a scratch on the door on a chain link fence. You know when your wife comes in the door and says "honey do you love me? I mean really love me." better get ready for the bad news. LOL

70,000 miles and no problems. No oil leaks and not any knocks. But since I posted this engine will probably blow up.

Cool

I own a '97 F150,XLT super cab,4X4 ORP. I now
have 32,121 miles and no engine slap problem.
Been to dealer for lug nut recall and shift
cable recall. Also had to have rotars turned
because of vibration and right side power
mirror motor replaced. Bought vehicle new in
April '97. Used Mobil 1 after first oil change and Motorcraft filter with silicone
valve.

Tina--I know alot of people around here that do maintence like that. Then they wonder why it lets them down after awile. hmmm. Are you sure its not a 5.8L or a 7.5L instead. Ford didn't put the 5.4L in the older "heavy-duty" models. They had the proven-tough windsors.
