Ask jbrew for the correct fittings. I made one.

JMC, may I ask how / what you used to make one? I know I need to go from 3/4" to 5/8", but jbrew said the threads are different and need to be retapped or just welded.

Headers are on the way, going to the dealership to get OEM parts now. I have decided on FelPro MLS headgaskets and exhaust gaskets.

Unless someone can give me good reason, I'm not going to change the timing chains / guides, etc. In seearching the forums, there are many with 300,000+ miles on originals with no issues, and mechanics that say they've never seen them fail. I assume this includes the tensioners as well.

The narrow part is the actual 4.6 fitting and the bottom is a ¾ or 1 inch threaded pipe fitting. The 4.6 part fits into the threaded pipe and is welded in place. The 5.4 adapter is metric but the standard pipe thread is so close that it fits.

Hey, I can't help much with the cams and what not, but you mentioned hard shifts at times, my dad had that problem with 3 trucks, all the manuals, and it was all because the O-ring in the tranny is defective, a probibly 3 dollar part that costs 300 for us, haha, just thought that might be of help? Also, I think the line-x all over would be absolutely awesome! I just wonder, if you have a super cab, will the doors still close properly?

All the exhaust components are here, all the Ford parts should be here tonight as well. Now if it would just warm up and stay that way. I hope to hell I can make these headers work, or I just wasted $950.

Pics are in my exhaust thread: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...=322247&page=4

Good Luck !! You have a welder ? I hate the thought of doing one of these without one - (been there done that) - that just sucked

Well, post some pics of the install - specially on the passenger side and also, how you manipulated the EGR pipe to fit.

Hope everything works out

I will be taking pics, etc. I don't have a welder, and the only one I can find who's qualified is about 45 min. away, so I hope I don't have to make too many trips. I'm prepared for it to suck.

What sucks is getting a good a seal. But , if you plan on taking it to get welded up, you should be alright.

I plan on a better SS TIG weld than even the factory job. I just hope we're only talking 1-2 chopped tubes and not all of em. This could very well be a nightmare.

Why is your tranny crossbar member and front driveshaft missing? Was that part of the install? Please explain when time allows.

There was instructions for the headers. It's allot of "you might have to do this" or "it may be easier ifs" I pulled my drive shaft because I just was tired of working around it. I pulled it to allow more room to access the header bolts. There was one in particular I had a hard time with, #5. I explained allot of what I did somewhere. I'll dig it up and post the thread . Just a minute.
