Another LEMON!!!

We had to pay $1500 out of pocket, as ford said it was due to depriciation. I call it just F**king us more.
I want Ford to buy my truck back so I can get a Nissan Titan or Toyota Tundra. I've given up on domestics. If you think about it though Toyota and Nissan are more American than the domestics. Toyota designed and built in Texas, and Nissan is completely designed and built in the USA. Each truck is probably 90% American made, and 10% from Japan.
Toyota and Nissan have to pay their workers which goes directly to the American economy. The unions are sending the Big 3 toward bankruptcy. They have no choice but to built their vehicles outside of this country. This has lead them to design a pathetic driveline for our truck.
Sorry if I offended some people, but business is business these days. I want a truck that won't be in the shop every other week while the dealer makes excuses why they can't fix the problem. If Nissan or Toyota can provide that I'm sold on them.
im just looking for them to replace my truck, not really buy it back so i can get something different. I had test drove the toyota, and although i loved the power, i just didnt like the looks at all. Dont get me wrong, its a nice truck, just didnt care for it. Also $610 for a toyota or $566 for a lincoln, but thats really hasnt gotten me anywhere. Atleast i would still be driving the toyota if i had bought it, instead of being in a rental the last 15 days.
It all depends on the dealer, I've had good and bad experiences with both foreign and domestic vehicles. Years ago my mother's '93 Honda Accord got some issue with the ABS system. Dealer brought it in and fell all over themselves to diagnose and fix the problem. We had it back the next day, repair was 100% covered by warranty. Even before that she had a Prelude, which popped it's timing belt at just over 100k(never replaced). Got it towed to the nearest dealer that would service a Honda. The next day we got a call saying that the engine was still okay but needed "more than just a new belt", whatever that means, they refused to tell us. After a week of BS, they service manager finally got on the phone and said that it would be ready tomorrow after a new belt was installed. Hassle from the start and endless run-around. The dealer kept trying to blame it on Honda, even though it was out-of warranty.
Of the literal dozens of problems with my father's Grand Cherokee, ranging from broken seatbelts to cracked water pumps, one dealer was great, until the warranty expired. The claimed to have fixed the power lock motor for a door, and the next day it broke again. We refused to pay until it was fixed right, and things got to be a real hassle from there.
I try to avoid dealers for repairs I can't/don't want to/not equipped for. The local Midas has been great so far, speedy service at a reasonable price and the jobs are done right.
Though Nissan and Toyota aren't all smiling faces and empty repair shops. Toyota must hold the record for most things recalled due to major design errors or faulty parts. I've noticed the interiors of the imports are surprisingly cheap, lots of hard plastics and vinyl that cracks apart in a year. I understand that a quality dashboard won't get that boat up the hill, but it generally reflects on the rest of the truck.
Either way, everybody has horror stories about the super lemon car or the dealership from hell. But I agree that Ford does have an issue with consistency. Some Fords will run forever on sealed motors and trannys, while others will constantly bust and never see 50k.

Surprise surprise, no PCM today. So that makes 6 days waiting on this PCM that they know is in Memphis Tenn. Thats wierd because fedex same day ships things. They told me they dont really know when its going to come in either, so i told him i needed to speak to the owner of the dealership. Instead of transfering me, i was put on hold and mysteriously when the parts manager came back on, he said the PCM should be in tomorrow. This is F**cking bulls**t. They need to just sign the damn buyback paperwork already and call it a day.
Dude, sorry to hear your still "hatin" it...
I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say that the tech who is working on your truck hasnt called hotline yet... There have been MANY documented concerns such as yours, and if i remember correctly ALL involved engine replacement...
I just did one in a 04 2 weeks ago...
Glad to see the 3v 5.4 is workin out for em.... (Lets all give a BIG round of applause to the engineers/designers involved!!)
I bet your looking forward to the vibration/tire issues, yet to come also.....

Yeah he called tech today. After they figured out it wasnt the pcm causing the problem. Wouldnt you know it, they told him to check the end play and find the shavings in the oil. Strange how i told him thats what was going to happen on may 21st when they first had the truck in. Atleast the owner of the dealership is going to fight to get the truck replaced instead of engines being swapped out. He said he would never accept that in a brand new truck. So atleast he is on my side with this one, and hopefully that will make some sort of difference. I am still waiting for CCST to call me with a "solution." But, supposedly the owner of the dealer called the "DOM" (some sort of district manager) and of course got a voicemail. He told her that the truck needed to be lemon lawed and they needed to start searching for or building a replacement. Of course there is still room for FORD to say no and to just fix it, but its looking a little better for me in getting a different truck.
??? cover up ???

For every 1 ford truck in the shop with something broken, there's probably 10,000 cruising around just fine.
And ya, Toyota is phenomenal at covering-up little "boo-boos" in their manufacturing, minor issues such as faulty head gaskets and defective transmissions.
Just look around. How many old (say '90 or earlier) trucks of a brand are still on the road? I see loads of older Ford trucks still around. Sometimes see an older GMC, and rarely ever a Chevy more than 10 years old. Japanese trucks? Never, at least not outside of a junkyard.
Ford has been #1 in sales for 30some years for a reason, which is one fact the GM fanboys just can't stand.

well on friday the whole situation got even better. Ford has been contacting some random customer about my vehicle. Me and my vehicle are in melbourne florida, and for some reason FORD reps were contacting a customer in alabama regarding my truck. If thats not bad enough, no rep would contact me until they had gotten permission from this person that had nothing to do with my truck. What kind of **** is that? Funny thing is, they seemed to make a joke about it, "oh its seems that we have been having trouble contacting you mr hammond, ha ha ha." I dont know, but i sure dont see the joke in this bull****.
I was supposed to be contacted on wed 6-6 and given some kind of solution to this matter. This is when they called a complete stranger, instead of me, the person who signed for a $45,000 truck. In doing this, they extended their follow up until tues 6-12, without my knowledge. During this whole thing i would have no clue whats going on with MY truck if i didnt keep calling customer service.
Oh and it that isnt bad enough, they are saying they refused my buyback request and i must except a replacement engine. The engine was supposed to be here thurs 6-7. Well now they are saying that it might be in on tues 6-12. This is so *******ed up, my payment is due on 6-12. In case you guys dont remember, i bought it on the 5-14, its been at the dealer since 5-21. I have driven it 3 times, twice in which it broke down, and now they dont even know when it will be fixed, and they have declined a buyback, oh and they are contacting complete strangers instead of the owner of the truck. WTF is wrong with FORD.

Did they at least give you a loaner through this ordeal? You will get back at them when they send you the Warrantee Service Survey, that they have you fill out in the mail.........those things have allot of weight from what I hear.....
I've had enough of FORD's bull****. If anyone reading this thread knows a lawyer that handles these type of cases. Could you please let me know? Hell, maybe someone reading this may actually be a lawyer themselves and can offer some insight to my case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When you get it back take it directly to CarMax and see what they will give you for it. Or, if the Florida lemon law is the similar to Texas then after it's been in the shop for 30 days you can file a lemon law. I would hope they would lose the engine and then file a lemon law through the state of Florida. That way Ford has no choice but to buy the truck back.

well i took another step in the case now. I have sent a link to this thread to the channel 6 problem solvers, which is a local news station based out of Orlando florida. Seeing as how all customer service related phone calls go through Melbourne Florida, i believe they will be interested in the case. It truly is a local issue for them.
