Its amazing how much easier it would've been to just get a replacement truck shipped to the dealer. Way to go FORD on your excellent customer service. Maybe i should start running my business this way, and maybe i'll become rich like these people. Good idea?

This is BS. Ford should buy that truck back and fix it when they have time then resell it. Every company will make a lemon, its all about how you stand behind your product that makes the difference

I just found out my truck will be in the shop for 2 weeks. The dealer can't seem to replicate the problem in my truck. I'm currently 320 miles from the dealership. They want me to show them what it is doing. I guarantee I can make the transmission screw up my first try at it. I'll admit it's doing it in a very narrow band in the RPM range, but it'll definitely show up driving in stop and go traffic.

So, I dropped it off at the dealer on Thursday and I won't be able to show them till this Friday. Then it will take them a week to fix the problem. I've basically met all of the requirements for the first stage of the Lemon Law in Texas. I have a payment due this week, and I've hardly driven my truck this month. Lets fix this whole ordeal right now with a new transmission. Or, Ford why don't you just spend another $2000 to rebuilt the transmission and only later buy it back from me.

I know things could be better, but they could be worse. A lady I know had a late model Windstar, probably 03, and actually had it in at the dealer for months at a time. All said and done, she put like 60k km's on the loaner Freestar, amung others and I'd say itwas at the dealer 70% of the time in 3 years. Something to do with the sliding door or something. Personally, I think it's the dealer in many cases. I am like the others who basically have had zero problems. The dealer treated me and my family like gold and our vehicles always ran great. Fuel pumps were bad with some of mom's Explorer's but really nothing else. This is still a kinda small town dealer who actually works hand in hand with the Chrysler dealer next door and the GM dealer across the street. More and more the dealers are becoming "big box" like and personal service takes a dirt nap, agree?

Oh ya, for all you jap car lovers who think they are the be all and end all, beat it, this is a Ford site. There are Ford guys and can't afford guys, who are you?

Good luck again with you're LT bud, they should have you roll in a new one because this one's tainted now I'll bet, like an accident fixed car, never the same is it.

I will never be able to depend on this truck again. All major things going wrong under 500 miles, trans, pcm, and engine. That kind of makes me lose all faith in this truck now. Especially seeing it broke down leaving my 2 year old daughter and myself on the side on the I95. Nice confidence builder for a new vehicle on the third time i drove it.

I think its a drag these guy are having problems but to say the truck would be "tainted" if it had to get a new engine or transmission is crap. You dont see Toyota offering to buy back all those Tundras with junk motors. Its to bad Fords customer service has let you all down but I still believe in there product I have three Fords in my driveway that for the most part are excellent vehicles Hopefully these problems will be resolved and in the end will be unfortunate memories..

I would say they both are letting me down right now, but ford is worse. Ford says to fix the truck, but the dealer has been waiting a week and half now for an engine. Ford lost my respect when i found out why i wasnt being contacted for followups. They were calling some random customer in a different state thinking he is the owner of my truck. And the kicker is that nobody, even the person calling the wrong person could explain how or why this had happened. The lady (jolynn is her name) thought it was actually funny and thought i would be humored by the mixup. I wish the tables were turned on that bitch and see how she feels.

Have you begun the Lemon Law process yet? If you don't it will just keep dragging on. Check Florida laws.

Exclamation Contact the Media!

FordScrew24's, I cannot stress enough the importance of you going to the media. But you can't just send them a link to this thread and expect them to help. Send them an intelligently-written, calm, and to the point outlining your entire story emphasizing that you need help.

That is essential because the people reading your e-mail these local stations are usually very busy and also are not usually the ones who decide whether a story runs or not, but they are the ones who will pass your story on to those who do.

Take it from someone who has done that (and I may be the only member here who has), it WILL work and you WILL get your truck replaced. Search my posts if you want to see what I went through many years ago.

Good luck!

Thank you. I had also called and left a message for their problem solvers team. I think they will be interested in helping because this is really a local problem.

C'mon, you know what I mean. The replacement stuff bieng perfect does not erase the b/s from before. Sad to say, but if they can't fix it, why is he paying for a loaner vehicle instead of HIS truck. Of course, if they or Ford sees this thread they may be hesitant to rush and fix your truck. Like mentioned, hopefully soon these will be small bumps in the overall ownership term because these are nice trucks and well worth the wait.

Either way, if they give a new truck or fix this one. Nobody can answer the ? "Where is the new engine?" It was ordered on 6-5 and supposed to be a 2 day ship. They also guarenteed it to be there by 6-11. But, as of today 6-12 at 5pm the engine is still MIA. Strange, hmmm, i think so.

The owner, general manager, sales manager, service manager, and parts manager all say this truck needs to be replaced. But, both the district and regional reps say to switch engines. So i guess there wont be a roush supercharger in the future for this truck. There is no way in hell i am going to put $6,000+ into this piece of ****. Especially seeing the entire drivetrain took a **** on me at only 500 miles. Am i wrong for thinking this way? Even the service manager agreed with me.

Just try gettin the spark plugs out of a 10-12000 mile truck with a 3v, guarantee they are gonna snap off in the head, and they are supposed to be "100k" serviceable??? ROFL...

As far as the trans issues go, that is pretty much a "normal" characteristic of the newer trucks, they are just built like crap, and the fact of the matter is, FORD/dealership has already gotten your 50k for a overpriced/rebaged F-150, and don't care in the slightest...

Another point is that if it has under 500 miles on it now, and has been in the shop LONGER than you have owned/driven it, it's probably gonna LIVE at the dealership from here on out..... You may wanna think about a trade....

Good luck, i hear Toyota builds a better truck now days.....
Any f150/f250 built after 03 is crap wow I need to tell my dad who has 200000 + mile with no prob on f250 or his friend with 130000 + miles on his 03 f150 not new enough for you how about an 04 f150 with 50000 no probs... I could go on and on. Dont just say something to hear yourself talk cars are going to have probs they always have if they didn't I and alot of other people wouldn't have a job Trans go out.... spark plugs break (they shouldnt be as bad as they are on the 04-07) .... but you going around saying buy a Toyota cause you and a couple of people have probs is the reason why auto plants in this nation are shutting down. Toyota does not make a better car their hybrids are a bunch of tree hugging **** and their trucks are no different from our truck they have probs. this subject just gets me going...........

I just got onto this thread, I've been reading the whole story and it really sucks what Ford is doing to you man, it's always sad to see someone having these type of problems and hearing Ford couldn't care less.

We've all had good and bad experiences, but a good experience with customer service or something similar, will not be told as many times as a bad experience like this one; I can tell, I work for Budget Rent a Car, and I have handled many of the complaints every day, and you always hear people saying things like that..."I AM TELLING ALL MY FRIENDS HOW MUCH BUDGET SUCKS" or so, but you never hear anybody saying "I am telling all my friends to rent with you because you rock", and it's sad how most of the companies haven't got to understand that. I hope you get this fixed.

buying toyotas didnt kill the union jobs, the union jobs and poor worksmanship killed the jobs. I know the grunt doesnt have a lot of control over the design problems, but a truely great organization listens to its employees when they have ideas. What is wrong with Ford, Quality has gone down the toilet, and the corporate board has forgot who pays their wages. Yea I know it is all in the stockholders hands, but they are consummers just like us. I buy products because I believe in them, not because some sob wants me to save his job. so dont cop out with that excuse, corporate America has sold us out and sent jobs overseas because they cant afford to compete with the benefits programs costing so much, which is not just a Ford problem but an America problem. What happened to the managers at Ford that could make decisions to treat the customer right? I gave Ford a chance, and they havent impressed me either. My local dealership is doing OK but I am furious with the quality issues I have had and what it takes to convince the Dealership to pony up and fix them. Then you wonder why all of our stuff is made overseas.... because they dont have the attitude that doing something right is the best thing for customer satisfaction. Pride in worksmanship is truely a rare thing, do it now and get it out and oh by the way make it cheaper. that is the matra of corporate america.....I really feel for this gentleman, They should give him the darn truck for free.
