Double check what I'm saying but that's a F250 / Exepidition motor

Expy's are considered a 150HD - both call for the 4R100 trans.

It won't bolt and you have different programming.

It will fit the truck fine , I don't think the trans will work.

Double check in the trans forum - ask someone there - ask speeder

i posted. waiting for a tranny troller to snag it.

programming has what to do with this application? i thought the programming would only affect the motor, not the trans i have currently. did i mis understand you on that one?

Yall's are smoking on some crack!

The block, the 5.4 block, which is what the tranny bolts too, is the same. They don't make a different block just for use with the 100.

The dust shield is different, that's pretty much it. All you need is a dust shield from any 5.4 motor at a junkyard that's got the 70. That's where you guys are getting all these extra bolt holes and goof ball imaginary problems.

The 4R100 has a different trans table. When you PCM goes thru it's adaptive strategies it won't jive - The 4R100 wasn't even built yet . The E40D was in the picture in 97 - the 4R100 didn't come until 99. It's basically and updated E4OD . BUT.., A major update was the electrical system. These transmission are all electric over Hydraulic. I doubt you can get it to work at all. Good Luck tho, SUCKS!!

You're not going to upgrade the tranny to the 100 too, are you? I didn't think so. So none of that PCM computer tranny conflict crap matters.

You have a motor that had a 100 behind it, and you want to use that motor with your 70. That's all, yes?

That's not a problem.

All the 5.4 blocks, and thusly their tranny bolt holes, are the same.

The 100 takes a different dust shield. It has more holes in the shield, and so more in the tranny. But those bolts go into the tranny, not the block. They have nothing to do with the engine, they just hold the shield on. That's the thing sitting loose in your pic, behind the flex-plate, turned over to one side. The thing steel thing.

So, yeah, go to bed you crack heads. LOL

No, you can't just drill new holes.

question, whats wrong with using the dust shield currently on my 4r70w?

If that's all your have to do is change is that shield ,I'm going to be pissed , I don't know how many times I've been told you can't switch out your trans for a different model.

Sorry, I'm thinking if you kept the motor and had to look for a 4R100 to fit it.

That wouldn't even work.

That didn't even occur to me. You might could use it. I think the hole in the center might be too small for the 5.4, I dunno. If it is, I bet you could probably grind or cut that hole out.
