I going back threw the whole thread here , trying to dicect the great info form the bullchit in this thread . What a short list I have for the useful info LOL..

Hey triton !! Your right I don't know much, but I learn real quick when I cheezz someone with your knowledge off LOL Unfortuantly I've found just presenting a question to learn from doesn't always initiate a response.

So it works for me!!!

LOL!

See, now, personally, I have both. 2 F150's, one with a 5.4, another with a mildly modified 4.6. My 4.6 sc will beat the living **** out of my stock 5.4 rc. And so it is, I drive the 4.6 almost exclusively. It runs harder, pulls, harder, etc. So if that doesn't say all that needs to be said right there, then all else is without point. Plus I am getting better than 22mpg on the highway with the 4.6. I don't even know why I keep the rc around anymore to be honest. Originally it was going to be my project truck, but I decided to go with the longer wheelbase of the sc. And with the sc, my roll cage won't be coming out the back window, that's a nice bonus.

idk if the old 5.4 has it but the new 5.4 has variable cam timing.
which is supposed to improve low end torque or some crap.

mildly modified.. i love it

im not sure whats being compared anymore.. points already been made. theres no replacement for dispacement..

if your saying a stock 5.4 is less effecient then a stock 4.6 fine.
i dont believe you but fine.

lol there will probably be 3 more pages added by the time i get back 45 minutes from now..

i see... its possible to run a larger valve on the 3v? im just not quite getting how the 2v vs 3v could make it that much of a difference. well i guess stock vs stock i do. but i mean if you were to run larger valves on each? *shrug* i got learnin to do.

variable cam timing? that the part where you can advance or retard the cam to be where you need it right? i thought the 5.4's had that the last several years? i cant remember which way it goes but you advance or retard it and you change the lift timing to either get more top end hp or low end torque?

Until it gets new cams, all it is is a 4.6 with ported PI heads, some intake work, higher compression, higher base timing, a 75mm TB, LT headers, fully upgraded exhaust, and a dyno tune. That _is_ mildly modified. It's not like it's running a blower or something!

I'll be throwing in some new cams and bigger injectors, ummmmmmm, probably this coming spring sometime. At that point, moderately modified would suit it better.

If it's not a diesel, and it don't lope, it's a *******.

It has a less efficient rod ratio, look it up. It's not hard to understand. Google it or something!

As for the heads, they are inefficient, PERIOD. Since the same head is used in both applications, they both EQUALLY SUCK.

LIKE I SAID, I HAVE BOTH A 4.6 AND A 5.4.

I am building a race motor with a 5.4.

I HAVE NO REASON TO BE BIAS!

NOW THAT'S E*******INGNOUGH ABOUT IT! LETS DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE........ Like make fun of jbrew and his rollie-pollie-goth-devil-wife!

Nah dude, he couldn't make the 20% down the dealer wanted...... so the dealer just kept 20% of the truck.
