i can guarentee theres 5.4's out there that have done that.. same with ANY other engine that has been built right..

but to say the 4.6 is superior to the 5.4 doesnt make since to me

if you maintain an any engine and it doesnt have any defects it could last for millions of miles..

anyway the point im making is a properly built 5.4 next to a properly built 4.6 will last the same amount of time.. why would the 5.4 wear faster?

and the reason the 5.4 has been reworked so many times is to make it more powerful..

Ford is trying to keep up with Dodge and Chevy.. Chevy's new 5.3 produces more HP then the current 5.4 even though the current 5.4 produces more torque..

and the HEMI makes the 5.4 look stupid..

anywho..

im thinking the point of this discussion is to see which engine is " superior" ..
well when it comes to calling something "superior" you have to take several things into consideration such as reliability,power,milage

the 5.4 obviously takes the 4.6 over power.. and reliability is questionable .. im sure there have been 4.6's that have had problems.. and milage... there about the same.. and yet you get more power with the 5.4 so...

so what im trying to say is if you throw a pickle at a 4.6 you'll gain 33 more HP

actually, not so much bud. i know a guy who has a 5.4 expy, and a hemi. both are stock, the expy is the wifes daily driver, the hemi is the hubbys daily driver. he was COMPLAINING the hemi was struggling to pass the 5.4

so in my eyes, the work horse 5.4 keeps up well with the toyish truck.

i was going based on numbers.. i've never raced a Ram 1500 HEMI ..

although perhaps the expy doesnt have the horrendous drive train loss the 04+ 150's have..

or the fact that the HEMI only produces 10 more lb/ft of torque then the 5.4 means something..

once again going based on numbers..
