all i know for shure is my 5.4l pulls a trailer like crazy where my 4.6l was pretty wimpy IMO, and thats pulling the same trailer same loads and up the same hills. i had to floor my old truck at it would drop from 80 to 70 and thats flooring it. where as my 5.4 will accelerate up those hills at any speed, im pretty impressed with the 5.4l i dont think id ever own a 4.6 again unless i didnt pull a trailer or love the power. sorry 4.6 guys if i offended you as i too was a 4.6l owner at one time

I'll pull all that out of there . The wood bit sets have just one carbide tooth usually or non at all , aluminum won't hardly slow this thing down - just let me do it I'll show yuh how it turns out , I'll bore it as far as I can plung- I have to make sure I have the right size , I guessing at this point..

no one is denying that the 5.4 makes more torque, that doesnt mean its better, and it defiently doesnt mean its faster. Thats fine that you are happy with your truck for your application. Ive towed and payloaded significant weight with my truck and never had a second thought about it.... Bottom line is each truck owner is happy with their purchase.

HI!... Man you guys are dense! Ford produces the engine for the application it's going in. Since Ford builds the 5.4's 98% for trucks and SUV's it has power down low for hauling and towing. That's why the 5.4 stays around 300H.P. They don't want the bragging rights for most H.P like DODGE did with the hemi. Sure the HEMI makes 345 h.p but the same TQ as the 5.4 3-VALVE. If Ford wanted to they could change the cams and intake manifold on the 5.4 and easily make 375H.P (flywheel), but it would suck in a truck or SUV, due to the max h.p would be up over 6000RPM and the TQ would probably be around 4000-4500 rpm. If the 5.4 were to be basically run in a MUSTANG than it would be o.k. But for a truck it's not.

HI!... Wow you compared a 5.4 auto to a high performance 4.6 with a manual. Congradulations. Now install a 5.4 in that Mustang with the same cams, pcm tuning and intake manifold and then see what happens. With everything being the same the 5.4 will make more power due to the increase in C.I's. You guys just don't get it.........

BTW, that's the weekest 5.4 3 valve I've seen. Most around here make around 235RWH.P.

I recently installed a passenger pedal kit. If I need more power, I push a button and an electric zapper seat cushion prompts my passenger to pedal giving me more power.

It is adjustable from 5,000 to 15,000 volts. If you drive around and hand-pick a passenger you may get one that will really increase your power.

Oh, and it doens't matter what size of engine you have-the increase is the same.....

So originally paul was comparing a mustang 4.6 with stock heads/cams/sc and compared that to a GT500 mustang with upgraded heads/upgraded cams/ and upgraded blower. Explain how that is not the same application?

Im pretty sure he was aware that you meant at the fly wheel. b.c the engine Hp/Tq numbers he was talking about were also fylwheel ratings.
