Yeah, Mine just breaths a little bit better than stock.. It still feels pretty good to have the 5.4L. Knowing that you have to Mod the hell out of 4six just to keep up.

Even still , you'll never catch up to 5.4's consistency with a load on your a$$..

yeh ill look it up later. lol since your so concerned about it
i wouldnt call it concern, more curious, a sleeve that allows such a large bore is something new to me. sound like the guy is making serious hp with it and i would like to see the set up. part of the theory of a larger bore is that it unshrouds the valves allowing more flow.
i would think it is taking more that 10 psi and a larger bore to make over 500 rwhp. i dont remember the numbers on a stock blown 4v cobra but i think it is around 390 rwhp.

Mannn, your a workaholic.. You and Patrick both . You guys sure have been putting in the time trying to make the 4six faster than the 5four.. Snap out of it fella's.

The simple fact -

There's NO Replacement 4 Displacement..

yah he told me u can buy a long block from VT for about 14,988 stock heads and cams. theres not alot of 32v's out there with head work or cams. most of them say its not worth it though ive seen other wise. but according to his mod list and what ive been told hes on stock heads and cams

the only replacement for displacement is efficiency of the engines ability to use its displacement.. a 5.4 is a 4.6 with asthema... builds up slow and dont breath for crap with the same heads on it.

Holy Crap , I can't believe you just said that lol..

Efficient ? The 4six ? Your can't be referring to power ?

Stock for Stock the 4six produces it's power in the higher RPMs. The 5.4L makes it's power just above idle. I would say that makes it a little more versatile and a hell of allot more efficient. The 5.4L weights what, maybe 100lbs more than the 4six and they get close enough to the same MPG that it really doesn't factor in my opinion. The 5.4L may be building the RPM's a little slower but it's producing every step of the way..The 4six ? Well, It gets there eventually

Cool

HI!... This is perfect timing. When I was out this afternoon I ended up racing a F-150 reg-cab, SB, SS with a p.i 4.6, auto with 3.55 gears. Guy was nice. Shot the crap after the race at the next light. Anyway........ 4.0 RANGER 1......... 4.6 F-150 *0* bwaaaa! Had him by 2 truck lengths.

Well, Yeah it makes more lol..

IMHO the first thing that needs doin to a new truck is helping it breath a bit.. Seems like when new they come with asthma/constipated from the manufacture . As soon as I put the K & N on there and an aftermarket cat back system it ran better and the truck had better miliage as well.

so either way.. lol the 4.6 breaths better and is more efficient with its displacement, with the 5.4 no matter what mods... if it breaths better to begin with it will in the end.
