130K and going..
I have 133K on my 97 F 150 X cab 4X4, 4.6 W. Still looks and pulls like new. Rides like the day I got it. My buddy's 97 Chubby rattles and rides like a tank. He had to replace the leaf springs to pass inspection at 80K mikes among other problems he's griped about. I went off roading with him once during hunting season...once. I banged my head off the top of the cab at LEAST 8 times. Say what you want about how Ford builds their trucks, I have had expereince with both Chubby's (my family owned Chubby's untill we saw the light. Now we own my F150, pops Ranger and Mom's Explorer.) and Dodge at work. Let's just say the Chubby's and especially the Dodge does not have the same quality as Ford does IMHO.

Count me in. Will roll over 150K this weekend I'm sure. Maintenance performed so far:
1. Flush transmission twice, for preventive maintenance only.
2. Flush coolant once, for preventive maintenance only.
3. Disected dash to replace burned out gauge bulbs (only two were out).
4. Replaced right front wheel bearing assembly (it was causing the ABS system to active unexpectedly under normal braking. This makes for rather interesting stops).
5. Drained and replaced fluid in both front and rear axles.
6. Drained and replaced transfer case fluid.
7. Replaced spark plugs at 100K (had worn to .085" gap but ran ok).
8. Replaced plug in #4 cylinder after it threw trouble code.
9. Made regular payments to the credit union (we're co-owners until I fulfill my end of the "bargain").
There may be a few lemons now and then in Ford's lineup, but this ain't one of 'em!
I'll be a PO-*****-FO-MO-CO man forever!
1997 F150 Lariat Supercab, Offroad, 4.6L Romeo, Desert Tan Metalic with no mods. Unless you count the Ricky Rudd #21. sticker.

just passed 100k
Hey all... My truck just passed 100,000 miles!!
'97 Ford F-150, Reg cab, XLT
No towing package or tranny cooler. I installed a reciever hitch and 7 pin harness my self.
Bought it used with 42,000 miles. Since then I've been towing my racecar, trailer and tools (about 4,500 pounds) 100 miles during the racing season (6 mos). This truck is starting its second racing season and I've had no problems.
I've done oil changes about every 3,000 - 6,000 miles. Changed the tranny fluid and filter at 70,000. Changed the fuel filter a couple times.
Starter went out at 45,000... but other than that, no problems whatsoever.
Love this truck... I believe it will see 200,000.

Mine is a 1999 5.4L 2WD EXpy with 118K miles and still going strong. I have to replaced both upper ball joints at 112K, spark plugs at 110K and flushed the radiator at the same time. also the normal maintenant , oil change at 3K and trans fluid at every 30K.
134,000 and still runnin good, change the oil every 3500, and lube it, 4 sets of breaks, 2 sets of rotors, 3 sets of plugs, and thats about it!!! Still runnin like a champ, couldnt be happier with it!!!!
my 1997 ex-cab lariat 4.6 just hit 183K not too many problems had to have a major tuneup after going mudding, replaced ac compressor and the previous owner had the transmission rebuilt at 125K the only real problem i have had is with taking it to machanics and they can't seem to fix it right the first time. one place i have taken it to, i have had to bring it back 5 times in the last two weeks after they replaced the heating core and messes up my dash and wiing and it is still having problems. and a couple suspesion parts might need replacing but the engine is still running good and want to add a supercharger, oh yeah that restore engine additive really does work my engine has better pick up and go
Update time:
My '97 just passed 160,500 miles. About 50 miles ago I had my first unscheduled engine type maintinence - the alternator went out. I replaced it with a Napa Reman unit. I also replaced the belt (still had the original in it). The old belt looks fine and is still serviceable - I've kept it for a spare!

Its nice to see this post still going. I've drove to Houston and back putting 3500 miles on the truck carring 1/2 ton of camping supplys and 5 adults. It never so much as missed. 75-80 the whole way. I now have 143,500+ miles. This is a great truck.
Can I enter a non-F150 if it's still a Ford truck? 1990 Ranger 4cyl with 220,000 miles and still runs pretty good. Still has the original alternator, starter, clutch & trans. Has never had an alignment, but gets phenomenal tire wear (89k, 80k, 51k and counting.) Replaced the original water pump at 215k, and here's the real kicker--- replaced original front pads and rotors at 217k.
People tell me that I should use something besides my regular Havoline 10w/30 at 4000 mile intervals. They say " Your engine will last a lot longer if you use synthetics."
I shrug and reply "How much longer than 13 yrs and 220k do I want it to last?"
