my standard shift 4.2 did amazing burn outs. i would do a brake stand, power shift(no clutch) into second and hold it to about 50-55. the wheel would be cut to the left and the thing would spin for about 7 revolutions. this was with 170k on the original clutch and tranny. the v6 was a champ. my 4six v8 can spin them, and pretty well for an auto...

Why do you guys like burning your tread off? Since i got new tires, I havnt even chirpped the tires, let alone full out white smokin them. I like my tires, and at over $600 a set, I want to keep them as long as possible.

The dirtbike is a different story tho..hah

i dont white smoke them ever. just did a small powerbrake, and as soon as they started to wail, i stopped. have chirped them a few times, mainly because i didnt let the rpms go down as far as i shouldve and put it in gear(also bad for the tranny)

3.55 non-LS M50D can chirp, spin and do all sorts of fun with my tires. My P255/70R16's are down to the wear bars. plan on getting new ones soon and when I do I'm going to spin them until they blow

What the... It will only hit 2 thousand RPMS when trying to power break also. anyway around this, can you guys peel out, how?!
i had an 04 heritage with 3.08 gears and it was a 4.2L V6 with a 5spd manual. when stock if i reved it up and dropped it, it would spin for a second or 2 but i put a K&N intake on it and after that i could spin tire for about a quarter second shifting into 2nd at 35-40mph. it would kick the rear end out about a foot too, and thats on dry pavement. wet pavement it would definitely spin both gears but 2nd is the best to fishtail in because 1st will kick it out then catch because your closer to the speed in which it tops out.
my 3.08 gears...
1st-40ish, 2nd-65ish, 3rd-90ish, 4th-110+. speedo only goes to 100 but tach kept going and i fgured out a was going about 108mph in 4th. also with the 3.08 gears if you had the power the truck would top out above 170mph in 5th. that would be sweet!!

My 97 has never had an issue with peelin' rubber :P it's a 5 spd manual and it had a stock 3.08 open rear when i first got it, which meant a mid burnout side to side tire swap on those crazed run's LOL and I put a 3.55 w/Auburn Locker and the only time I haven't been able to spin the rubbers is with my mud tires... 235/85r16's they are studded and grip like crazy... it's for the better tho
