Of all those 'mods' you list, theres not to many that really did a damn thing.
The Af1, Pulleys, headers, MAYBE that exhaust, the 4:10's, shift kit a tiddy bit, and the N2O. All that other crap really isnt going to do much on a not so heavily modded truck. Dont the 4.6's run around 16.5 stock anyway? Not to much more than your 'hot' V6.

And I know your gonna say something like "your just mad because my truck is faster than yours". I dont care. It might be-32's with 3.55's isnt really the best mix for haulin a$$. I havent even really started modding it with any go fast stuff.......YET!!!

Sorry! Just venting some.
So you don't think the Stage 1 clutch, the light weight flywheel. The positraction, the CHip, the colder kit/ Aluminum drive shaft. ISn't gonna help?? Ur crazy!! and stock 4.6 do 17 and up!! My friend has one, with just a air intake in it.(Auto) To much Mudd got in ur Head or Shi!T whatever it was. Just a hater, But i will post pictures and time slips, when track reopens. Just so i can shut ur a$$ up!!

Dude, you are looking for a new chip, so why are you bragging about it here? And I don't doubt that your truck could beat mine... you must remeber, my 2wd truck has 32.5" tall OFF ROAD TIRES. Why? Because I use it like the good ol' truck Gods desgined it for. I'll race you on your track, if you race me on my track...I've taken my 2wd places where where no 2wd should go, with onlookers saying, "there's no way you're gonna make it..." And guess what? I made it up that damn hill...even with a few hundred pounds of rocks in the back...try that with your truck...

Why do you guys let STOMP het ya'll all riled up like that? If he's telling the truth, he did a great build. If he's lying, then he's no better than a car salesman...
Either way, by arguing with him this is what you've accomplished:

Ok. Now that that's done, I've already shown him I can out pull and out mud him. He accepts that. I accept that he could probably beat me on the street. Would beat me in fact. My truck's not fast. I like it that way.

Try not to rear end any of the other Go-Karts.

My truck is not built or has such capacity like urs. Of course not, It'll never be able to take no hills, mud, or any off road track. It's nice you can do what u do in ur truck. I never inteded to make my truck fast, I just installed the first thing, and got addicted to it. About the chip.... Im just looking for more performance, at the time I didn't know what all these different electronic things can do, or able to do. So im looking for better performance, that's all. It's taken me a long time to do all this, and proud of it.

You just like messing with me, don't you??

THANKS!!!
That's what im telling this ppl, but just don't understand. Not here to argue but can't help it sometimes with these nuckleheads. Yes i cannot go offroading. Just my rims and tires alone wont make it up a Hill, i know that!!
But the fact that I was able to make this slow *** truck a couple of seconds faster, Is a great satisfaction to me. No longer an underdog.
If i where to buy a v8 truck, I already know where to come for offroad tips, and good advice.... YA"LL FEEL ME????

It seems that we have seen some of the products of today's education system in this thread. STOMP has shown me that people are actually gullable enough to purchase a electric turbo. Wow, just wow. STOMP, what's the purpose of performance modding a fullsize truck, that weighs so much when you could've gotten a Ranger and been much lighter. If performance was your goal you would've considered this before getting a V6 F-150. When you put airbags and 22s on it post some pics, I'll get a laugh from a "farst V6 F-150."

If you'd been here a while, he's already explained it. He was stationed over seas in the military, and all that was available was a V-6. He was bored, so he decided to mod it. Why not let him buy the gizmos, and then he can tell us how they work. I'm sure that not everything that's popular now was popular when it first came out. Someone had to test it. Look @ Bill Gates: "Who's ever going to need more than 640k of ram?" That went over real well, huh? Didn't stop people from buying more ram and discovering that it was beneficial, now did it?

Ask Ford why they built the Lightning....

But not everyone has the time, money, knowledge, or lying skills to get as much power out of a V-6 PICKUP as you do.

But back to the orignial question vandalfootball. The V-6's STOCK.... are not that fast, and probably won't give you the sound you're hoping for. I'd probably go with the 4.6 Since It's not as intimidating to parents, It Gets about the Same Gas Milage as a 4.2(V-6) And Better than the 5.4. While still giving plenty of performance and a nice V-8 Sound from your exhaust. And Plus; it's much easier to get parts for it, than a V6 if/when you do plan on adding upgrades.

I have argue with you on that one. I have an 06 5.4 and I get just as good milage as a 4.6 the reason being my motor doesn't have to work as hard.
with that said. I have reservations putting a 16 yr old who just learned to drive behind the wheel of something as big as a full size truck. but If his parents are willing go there, I think they should get something that he will like with out having to turn it into a money pit regardless of how many cylinders are under the hood.

The issue of insurance is also something to be considered. If his parents can't afford ( or at least don't want to pay for ) insurance on a 16 yr old/ V8 combination
then the decision is made no matter what we think the best option is.

and last unless you can afford a lightining, making a full sized truck fast is an expensive proposition no matter what you have under the hood. (I define fast as 12's and faster in the 1/4 mile)

Shortbed Flareside anyone?
SC 5.4L V8?

Not a electric turbocharged 4.2L V6.

This was an entertaining thread to read guys! STOMPTHECHEVY, I encourage you to continue your mods. As long as you're embarrassing as many Silverados and GMC trucks as possible I don't care how much you talk. If you're serious about it, save your money, build up your engine with forged everything and run 12 or 14 lbs. of boost on that sucker. Then go SRT hunting.
