That swap will not work. The older transmission is incompatible electronically with the needs of the computer in that vehicle.
While it is possible to do things to a newer transmission to use it on an older vehicle, unfortunately there is nothing you can do to the older transmission to make it work with the computer in a newer vehicle. That missing second sensor (turbine sensor) makes that impossible.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

2003 and older has 6 holes the speed sensor reads. 2004 and newer has 24 tabs the sensor reads.
Basically, your older engine computer will not be able to interpret the signal coming from the output shaft speed sensor as its reading 4X faster than the original.

Darrin is correct... the output shaft ring gear is different on 2004 and newer 4R70E/4R75 and is NOT backwards compatible with 2003 and older vehicles.

The much bigger issue that cannot be corrected is the turbine shaft sensor and everything relative to it. Totally impossible to add one to an older transmission.

Actually the ring gear is the easy part. Super simple to correct via a tune or somewhat harder if one might choose to disassemble and swap parts.

older transmission in a newer truck = no bueno!
