we had talked about the tailgate. I did a bunch of work for him in trade for the paint and he fixed a couple of extras for me. The front weld on the bed popped and weld my sway bar brackets. the list of fix it's has been big and I didn't want to push my luck or owe him my first born...lol. Good thing is it's the tailgate and can be done later when we have more time. We have kept track of each gram of paint, pearl and clear so we can do other stuff in the future without having to guess what we did. The skirts stayed on because It was a bit easier and I put them on for good. He said it would not be an issue because neither of us is going anywhere. I am about as lucky as they come when it comes to paint.

Glad you didnt take off your shirt while you were painting

But you might not want to have your shirts on for good, might get a bit stinky after a few days

Thanks. The other day they striped the doors down and got rid of the rock guard at the bottom of the doors. they seam sealed the skirts and primed everything. then speckle coat and block sanded then primed again. It will get final sanding next week.

I was wondering how much sanding it would get, since that's what makes paint perfect. Sounds like it's gonna be one helluva paint job when it's done!

If you don't mind my asking, do you have a ballpark for would all of this would run you if you didn't have a hook-up and weren't helping them?

If it was an insurance job between 10 and 12.5. They told me to up my insurance because of the cost and labor intensiveness of a 3 stage paint job, including painted stripes too. Sunny also told me it would up the value of the truck by at least 7. Sounds good to me...lol
I have been having truck withdraws. Even my step daughter said the other day how she missed the truck. Ol' Nelly is loved...LMAO

Whew, I'm glad I'm good with a factory-grade paint job on my truck! Whenever, decades down the road, I get around to getting a nice muscle car, I'm probably gonna have to shell out for the 5 figure paint job. That's going to look absolutely killer though

Same thing happened with "blades" wheels. I'm sure some other things qualify, but those stick out (pun intended) to me because of the huge numbers of people that copy each other on purpose.

I sometimes shy away from things that I see every one with. Some mods are cool and a lot of people have them, and I do too. But I'd never buy XD Rockstars because of how many people have them. I love black and machined wheels, like Fuels and BMFs, but so many people have then now.
You forgot to Mention Moto Metal 951s...

I went with the ProComp 1089s because I loved the look, and to be blunt, I hadn't seen them on another truck before I bought mine...

Sadly, a friend of my down the street neighbor, has an '05 Arizona Beige Lariat Supercab 4x4, he went and leveled it, put the same wheels on it, with 35" Cooper STTs, and the same brush guard / nerfs I had... My brush guard is off now waiting for a new winch mount, but dang that ticks me off!

I actually don't even care for the looks of the 951's at all either. Straight up copying like that is stupid. I want my OWN truck. I did copy my buddy's radio, but every one of my buddies with an 04-08 with an aftermarket radio all have the same one now. The first guy took the risk, then we went with something that we knew worked and was good. All 4 trucks are different colors though, so no copying going on there

I have to agree about the copy cat crap. I have worked hard to make mine different. Not the same Ol' same Ol' drive down the road and pass two or three just like what your driving. I have never been like that nor will I ever be. Some Hate and some dig it, Hell I may even inspire somebody...lol I learned a very long time ago You can please some of the people some of the time but never all the people all the time. So F' em. I will do what makes me happy cause I sure as hell wasn't put on the planet to please them.
