So the audio system has been in for about 4 months. I made numerous adjustments to the settings on the deck. I.E. crossover points and cutoff DB's trying to get
things perfect. The mid's and high's sound pretty good but I prefer my high's a bit crisper. The main problem I have is with the Sub's. I have always used kicker Comp R
Subs whether they were 12's or 15's. I've never had a problem with them until now. They are dual 2 Ohm VC's and I broke them in as usual with a total Ohm load
reading at 1.35 Ohm's. When I put some of my old school music on and give the bass **** a 1/4 turn they start making the infamous coil crackling / popping sound.
I turned it down real quick and have been making plans to replace the Comp R's with something a bit beefier. I still think at 1.35 Ohm's this amp should not be dumping
to much juice for these Subs but I guess I'm wrong. What I have coming will not have that problem guaranteed. I will have to make a new enclosure but that is easy enough.
I will most likely go with some form of "L" port. I'm pretty sure 3 of these will handle things just fine when I turn the Bass **** up for some Ground Pounding Bass. When
I set the amp gains I set the deck to flat. Once the gains were set I made a few adjustments to the EQ and the sub gain to +2 out of 10 so it's not like I blindly turned everything
to max like a "Rookie". The pics below are the replacements that are coming.

I got started on my box this weekend. Here are a few pic's for those who may be interested. I had to stop today because my brad nailer gave up the ghost and went to the great power tool
graveyard in the sky. It lasted me over 20 years and has hundreds of projects to it's name. The rough specs on the box are 6.2 sq. ft. after port space deduction and the sub displacement
combined is .27 so it' about 5.93 Sq. ft. Each sub optimum is 2 sq. ft. I would say close enough and it is tuned to 32 Hz so it should sound quite nice. Each Sub weights 32 lbs so this pig is
gonna be heavy as **** on top of using High density particle board.

I got the additional rear wall bracing and the top on and routered the secondary stiffening front baffel done and mounted. I also got the 8 Gauge speaker wire installed
and ready to to go. On the back of the box I have a raceway for the wiring and such. That part is different then the the first box and more inline with the box I made for the
4 x 15's in the truck. I still need to finish the outside edges of the ports and of course cover it in carpet and some bed liner. Then I need to work some magic with blending
into the factory rear panels a bit. I will get better pics when the sun is out..lol

If anyone has any input I wouldn't mind hearing it.

It's been hot as hell lately and my back has been giving grief so progress has been slow. I got the secondary Front baffles in and finished out the ports. I have some sanding and router work to do
yet. I'm also gonna cut out and install some magnet cradles cause these subs weight about 31 lbs. Once all that is done I will get the carpet and bed liner done so I can get this in. I got the speaker
terminal in and each sub will get 8 gauge wire so the power/ current can flow freely.

I'm seriously considering picking up a kit. I almost pulled the trigger a few months ago, but decided I already had enough on my plate with the Coyote swap. I think in your case it would really clean up your install with those nice kick panels

Thanks Pat, I've been watching your build. You're attention to detail is the difference between a hack and a professional. Very Nice!!

I got some more done today. I still have a little bit of clean up on it but not to bad. Once everything dries I can start on the swap out. What sucks is
that I have to pull all the subs out to get the box out. I used security screws on the subs and the box has 8 1/4 screws holding it place. The same applies
to installing these heavy ars subs..lol

Looks well planned out. I like the computer fans. Are you covering over the amps too?

The Amps will be on the back between the fans. I haven't decided whether I want plexi covering or not. I kinda don't need it because the box is
right up against the back seat.

I've been working on the box some more. I got the Magnet cradles in and 2 subs wired and mounted. The last sub I had to wait for the glue to dry. The other 2
I was able to install while I put the subs in.

This morning I started the tear down of the Old set up. I took a few pics to show just how big of a difference there is between the Kicker Comp R 12
and the Skar Audio EVL12D2. I would say a huge difference is close to a understatement..lol The kicker voice coil looks to be a 2 inch and the Skar
is a 3 inch. There are to many big differences to write about, but the pics speak for themselves.
